dragonknight4275
Hello! Today I was browsing through the GW site when I saw the Throne of Judgement model and thought "Hey, that'd make a cool dreadnought!" And, since my Blood Angels are shamefully short on dreadnoughts, I began to think up a plan. I haven't bought anything yet, since the blueprints are still shaky, but here they are. I posted them so I could get feedback. I also want to say a really big sorry if I posted this in the wrong place. This is my first post about a conversion.......Without further ado, my Furioso conversion idea! Goal: A dynamic, unique Furioso dread that doesn't look too cheesy. Armament: In game terms, the dread will be kitted out with blood talons, a heavy flamer, and a meltagun for weapons. Base: The Throne of Judgement with Karazmov and the servitors cut off, and the Inquisition symbols filed down (thank god for resin!). Front armor: I'll cover the gap left by Karazmov with a front armor plate from the Venerable Dreadnought box. Probably the one with the vision slit. I haven't figured out what to cover the top with...... Blood talons: Four SM termy lightning claw arms, cut at the knuckles. The claws will be the only part used in the model. They'll be glued onto either the DCCW or Nemesis dreadknight wrist, depending on the one I use for the arms (see below). Arms: Either extremely buffed Venerable Dreadnought arms or Nemesis Dreadknight arms with the hands cut off. Heavy Flamer: Since I bought a LR Crusader this weekend, I have the two flamestorm cannons leftover. I will be using one of those, although it will be modified to look naturally underslung on the arm. Multi-melta: The tri-barreled multi-melta from the Throne, glued on upside down to the underside of the arm it goes on. So, that's all I have. I hope it's not too far fetched. Tell me what you think! RebG
I started off really liking the idea but, now I've thought about it, there's a big issue. You're going to take a model based on a dreadnought (legs, back/power unit etc) with unique features (inquisitor on throne, servitors in mini turrets etc) then cover up/cut off said unique features to be replaced with...regular dreadnought parts. That means you'll have dread legs, back, front plate and arms (unless you use the DK arms). Surely you'd just be better buying a regular dread and pimping it up a little? It'd be cool if you could maintain more of the original features as a really unique vehicle - use the mini turrets as the weapon mounts and find a cool way to 'count as' the blood talons? Sounds like you have a good imagination and a decent bits box so I'm sure it'll come out cool, I just don't know if you need to go to all that trouble to backwards convert the throne back into a dreadnought! Good luck! :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/235958-furioso-conversion-idea/#findComment-2842840 Share on other sites

Good luck! :) Yeah, that's a bug that came to my mind...... :( How about this, I'll keep the servitor gun turrets and then add, say, Crusaders with drawn power swords chilling on its shoulders or something. Since I'm not too terrible at greenstuffing, I could also sculpt little battlements as if the dread was a walking castle and the Crusaders were the knights defending it. Their power swords could be the "blood talons" as they slice and dice anything that comes too close to the dread itself. The Crusaders would represent Chapter serfs who tend to the mighty war machine. Bewlay
Although it sounds like a great idea, I don't think Furioso can have Multi-Meltas :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/235958-furioso-conversion-idea/#findComment-2844757 Share on other sites
dragonknight4275
Although it sounds like a great idea, I don't think Furioso can have Multi-Meltas  Well yeah, its gonna represent a meltagun. I don't think Furiosos can take flamestorm cannons either :D Ohhh, I see what you mean. I'll change that, thanks for picking it up!
