Aurelian release date

I think you're missing the immense divide between "Author: This is what I want" and "Artist: Six months later, this is what I've done."

Best know what you want from the art well before you finish the book if the artist takes 6 months. :P

Yeah, I usually save time by sending an extract from a pivotal scene. That works great.

@A D-B

No one is saying that it's your fault those novellas are so expensive, so limited and so hard to get. It's just that you are here.

You work for BL and you talk with 40k gamers/readers/fans. It is awesome for us, we can get an insight into Black Library, answers for some troubling questions. We can write and we can be almost sure that you may read it, there's even a chance that you will reply to it. There's hope that you might take all our concerns to the head-BL-guy (or probably guys) and say "My readers don't like this!". It's just plain desperation.

I don't like this limited edition stuff. I don't like it either. I don't fight with it. It's just the way it is now.

I hope I'll be able to buy Aurelian at some point in the future, after it's re-release.

I'll certainly agree that the art is of the current low-rent quality seen on all the HH novels. Quite honestly, 2-D is superior to this grade of 3-D. Quite honestly, I wish they'd get Adrian Smith doing these. Nothing he's ever done regarding 40k has been anything under amazing. What about you, A D-B? I know you like your artist, but is there anybody out there you've said 'oooh, shiny' over? Wayne England? Michael Phillippi?
for convenience

* Coolest Title

A book about Aurelian, with a big guy burning Eldar in unholy fire and an actual GOD crawling desparately away from said big guy, who happens to be armed with a Crozius Arcanum, is about the Imperial Fists? ;)

Anyway, checking out that cover it reminded me of transformer comics. Specifically the Avatar's face and eyes...

And there goes another Avatar. ;) It seems that every time it needs to be established that someone is badass, they get to kill an Avatar (which is fine by me ^_^ ).

The thing I don`t like about the image is how absurdly long Lorgar`s cape is. Feels like there should be a team of Word Bearers operating a giant fan just outside the right frame to keep the thing behind Lorgar.

There's a lot to be said for experience! :P

I do like it though, it makes you wonder what it is that Lorgar has done that's resulted in him having to take down an Avatar so to me it's doing it's job. Normally they're just pictures of marines but this one is quite interesting.

As discussed elsewhere it might be something related to Lorgar looking at the fall of the Eldar as a race, rather than the Avatar getting his arse handed to him, guess we'll have to read it to find out!

I reckon he's just beaten up an Avatar myself, but then again I prefer the simple things in life. If he's wandering around the Eye of Terror there are bound to be a few still knocking about on the old Crone worlds somewhere at the time.

I'm still up in the air on whether I am buying this or not. On one hand I love darn near everything HH related. On the other, that is one expensive HH related product and I am but a lowly college student.....

That aside I really dig the cover.

Also, Mr. A D-B, I sent you a PM around 3-4 months ago and no reply :) your inbox must be more insane than I thought or I rubbed you the wrong way. If it's the latter, my apologies.

I really like the cover art

Like ADB, i love buying limited or collectible stuff. I'm not bothered about how others perceive it as long as i can have it and cradle it in a Gollum 'my precioussss' kind of way. My loft is a treasure trove of Star Wars stuff (not figures!) and other collectibles :)

I can see how others can be peeved at the price, espcially the younger guys still in education who don't earn a wage, and i sympathise, but limited stuff is limited.
