Grimtooth
Something came up today that got me thinking; Q. Does a Thunderwolf Cavalry model with a special close combat weapon (eg a thunder hammer) still have rending attacks? (p34) A. No. The description of the Thunderwolf mount on page 62 says that it ʻ… has the Rending special rule in close combat with any attack that does not use a special close combat weaponʼ. This applies to Thunderwolf Cavalry as well (and Canis Wolfborn, for that matter) A servo-arm grants the model a single extra close combat attack, made separately at Initiative 1 and Strength 8. A servo-arm on an Iron Priest with a TWM is Rending. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/236050-iron-priest-on-twm/ Share on other sites
Martok
I cannot fault the logic. That's incredibly useful. Thanks. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/236050-iron-priest-on-twm/#findComment-2843736 Share on other sites
Grimtooth
Granted the Thunderhammer will be hitting at Str 10 so AV 14 is not real hard, but having a single Str 8 Rending attack as a last chance is the stuff of sagas. Silverwolf
Haha, not a unit I make use of, but certainly still an interesting little point you've picked up on there :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/236050-iron-priest-on-twm/#findComment-2843834 Share on other sites
Heimdall Skullcrusher
Does that mean that an attack with a servo arm doesn't ignore armor saves? I never thought about it but I assume so. Not sure on the rending ruling as it seems like it bends the rules a little. Something Wycked
Before anyone rushes off to use this little gem, be sure to read the OR thread on the matter. commander alexander
Haha.... Ahahahhahaaaa.... What a wonderful loophole. ===Edit=== Just saw the link, so this has been brought up before? And after reading it, it still sounds like you can use it with rending. If I had to, I would roll against my opponent to see whether I could do it or not.... If he was a stingy git.
