Brother Knight
Hey guys, I tried searching this on the forum but either my search bar is trolling me or it's uber weak FU ;) The aegis rule reads that enemies are at -1 ld when targeting a unit with the aegis special rule, whilst a dreads reinforced aegis reads that this is increased to -4. Now grammatically I would say this doesn't stack but my opponent (who also played GK in that game) said it stacked which would in this case be an absolute killer combo as with 2 dreads within 12" of each other + the aegis from the squad being targeted would mean only getting a power of on double 1's and suffering perils... Now is this a debate of RAW vs RAI again, or just a straight out no? (I tend toward the later or eldar/other GK would be amazingly nerfed) Cheers guys Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/236101-the-aegis/ Share on other sites
number6
I do not believe that Aegis stacks with Reinforced Aegis. You simply apply the greater of the two penalties. The wording for Reinforced Aegis says that the penalty is "increased to" -4, not that an additional -4 penalty is applied. Elric the Silvercoat
It doesn't stack because that would be the biggest :cuss if it stacked. Really two Dreads would mean the enemy psykers really couldn't use offense powers and that is just wrong. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/236101-the-aegis/#findComment-2844353 Share on other sites
thade
Yep, "increased to" means it's -4. If it said "increased by", your friend would be correct. He's not though. <3 It's -4, per the writing of it. Prepositions are our friends. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/236101-the-aegis/#findComment-2844370 Share on other sites
