Hfran Morkai
Was reading "What's new today" as usual and came across Phil Kelly's Wolf army, after he posted his Guard support army yesterday. Thought the Fang might want to take a look at what our Codex producer has in his force. http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/...p?aId=17700032a Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/236106-phil-kellys-wolves/ Share on other sites
Wulfebane
The Imperial Armour vol. 11 has a splash page w/ SW markings.. that's got my attention more than Phil Kelly's Wolves. Yeah, seen that before though. Interesting its named as a Wolf Guard pack, with a Meltagun and Multi-Melta featuring on the page. Bat33.1
It looks to me as if they have both Long Fangs and Wolf Guard on the same page, the only figure that has Wolf Guard markings is @ bottom left with black/yellow markings. Oooh just a thought, it could be a 'Wolf Guard' pack in that it's Long Fangs led by a Wolf Guard - makes a bit more sense to me at least. Any thoughts from the Wolf Brothers on this? Iron-Daemon Forge
Is anyone able to post the bigger image of that FW page, shown on the GW web site. Just for some reason when I click on a image on the GW web site, instead of getting a bigger version, it get a bit mess up with the screen going darker/black. When click off it, my lap top gose back to normal. Only seem to be on the GW web site that I have this problem when trying to check out bigger image of the models/stuff on the what new today page ;) Just wanting to see what the Long Fangs are like as I am current make a few packs for my own Space Wolves force. Just get idea for armour & conversion really. Phil Kelly Space Wolves are brillaint, I really like his Space Wolves force. Saw them last year in Warhammer World when they done a display on Space Wolves, you can find my topic around here. Like wise saw them that Games Day when SW where pre-release. Chapter Master Ignis Domus
Mine zooms in fine. I still can't read the small writing, unfortunately, but it does say Wolf Guard Pack, with the words Space Wolf Pack Space Wolf Pack(yes, the twice thing is on there) beneath. They also seem to be in an alternate, icey color scheme. MeatGrinder
They're the last edition metal chaos hounds. It annoys that GW posts these army showcases with such small pictures. Silverwolf
mmm, both the FW art, and Phil's wolves are far to blue for my taste, Phil's are getting dangerously close to Smurf blue. I'm curious how that's a legal army though. Then again he does say he's another pack of GH, and some BCs under construction. But the Termies with HQ and wolves would not fit in the Pod (and can't go in the rhino), dropping Long Fangs seems a bit silly without Logan, and so he has 2 Rhinos and a Pod, but only 2 units that can be transported? maverik_girl
so if the man who wrote the codex has his Fen wolves mounted on 40mm base. Does that mean we can end the debate, for those people who insist, on having Fen wolves mounted on cav bases (bike base)? LMAO Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/236106-phil-kellys-wolves/#findComment-2845067 Share on other sites

When Phil had the army on display or shown in the past What new today, the Grey Hunter unit would be down to two units of five http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/...sp?aId=4700027a Just the way they set them up to take the photos in yesterday what new today. http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...=205666&hl= As for the Drop Pod, I think it been added just to show Phil Kelly army as it currently is. As said with the Grey Hunter, just trying get everthing together of what he has fully painted while he finish off his army. Xeenos
If i had to guess.. id say its a custom Logan with a squad of 5 Wolf Guard, Logan and 4 WG go in the Drop Pod, the 5th WG joins the pack of Fen Wolves, the two of which that are with Logan himself are just there for flavor, and they actually belong to the larger pack. A pack of 9 Grey Hunters in a Rhino and the Long Fangs with their own Rhino! Could be another WG in the Grey Hunter pack too.. impossible to tell though. If.. someone felt the itch to make sense out of what we see there.. lol.. though now that i think on it, i dont think WG can join Fen Wolves.. hmmm.. maybe its just a LW standing with them for lolz? ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/236106-phil-kellys-wolves/#findComment-2845134 Share on other sites

Demonstrates how some folks get all bent out of shape over a relatively minor issue that the folks who write the game don't even care about. LoneSniperSG
How about modeling for laziness? Cavalry bases came with the wolves so that's just what I use, rather than trying to dig up 40-mm bases from somewhere. BR has some nice resin bases that he wants to use though, and I'm sure he'd like to do it without catching flak from someone.
