When does the Emperor show up in the HH books

Recommended Posts

Descent of Angels has him in it.

The First Heretic is the big one, he turns up around about the

third chapter

. (Mild spoiler there)

And a brief look of him in the first short story of Tales of Heresy, which I'm half way through. Only a brief look though, as mentioned.

Big E isn't credited in any of the books so far (Personalties list at the start of each novel) but I believe he is also in Decent of Angels (Couldn't get into that book at all)

I'm surprised that Big E isn't in the books more. Yes I know he gave up campaining and let Horus take control of the crusade. But wouldn't you think the Emperor would show up and see how the war was going?

It always boggles my mind when I read about people just starting the HH series....

I mean where have you been for the last 5 years?!?!?!

;)

Well, I just came back to 40K..I played waaaaay back in RT days, rediscovered my original copy of RT, went to ebay bought all OOP and current 40k rulebooks, codices, IA etc. Started reading the novels last year, just started reading the HH last week.

He's too busy building the Webway I mean doing important things.

We will never speak about that again...or heresy! humans will never use xenos technology

what the hell are you talking about?

the Emperor was building an IMPERIAL webway not an Eldar webway

and like using the warp to travel is not technically a heresy

I thought it was piggybacked off the eldar webway, I guess I don't have the fluff correct.

Moving on...

Yeh it was based on Eldar tech and then modified by the Emperor - so yes it is based on xenos tech, but then lots of tech was used from different species early on in the early Imperium. Its a shame really because just now 40k is pretty retarded when it comes to common sense and technology, lol.

That's the point I don't understand..on one hand you can use xenos tech but then you might have the == show

up at your door. Unless you are AM then it might be in the honor of the machine god...or maybe not

Since the Emperor has been on the throne the Imperium is essentially without a leader. The High Lords are considered to be the leader(s) of humanity but they each have their own agendas and each have different views on how the Imperium should run, it is because of this the Imperium is in the state it is. One High Lord might sanction something and then another will, behind the scenes, try and stop whatever it was that was sanctioned.

Basically its a big mess.

Thanks, I read Tales of Heresy and I believe the story that has the Big E is "The Last Church".

Actually, I meant the view we get in 'Blood Games' at the time, since I hadn't finished reading the book yet. But that was a far better view and was a very good story. :)

I wreckon the last book aboutthe heresy will be from the emperors view point. Although immagine the sheer size of the book and every letter must be laminated to stop the reader loyalist or chaotic fan alike drooling all over it.

One copy written in Chuck Norris's blood on gold pages. Where just reading the blurb made your nose bleed.

The whole point of Horus falling was that he wouldn't have if the Emperor was there. The Emperor felt that Horus was capable, and left the handling of the Great Crusade to him. No need to name a new leader if you keep popping back to take the reigns again.
