Kami
A little bit too late for the summer advance, but here are the pics of my leaders I finished today: http://mightylandraider.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Runepriest.jpg The Runepriest is from the Assault on Black Reach Set and features some Warhammer Fantasy parts under his cloak like a potion, two bird talismans and a dead rabbit talisman hanging from his runic staff, as well as a signal horn and a small barrel on his back (met, ale anyone?). He is part of the whole Black Reach Crew i converted for the Wolves. http://mightylandraider.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Thunderwolf-Lord.jpg The Lord is made of Canis Wolfborn's Finecast model and wields pistol and wolf claw. He can stand in as a single Thunderwolf Cavalry if points are short. I hope you like them, hunters! Chapter Master Ignis Domus
I spy Brettonian bits... I like them, except for the face color. You can't really see any difference between the armor and faces. Kami
Ah, bretonians, didn't know that (got them from a friend). As for the skin colour, good point, I wouldn't have thought about it. Very weather beaten as it seems +g+. Thanks! Silverwolf
Obviously from southern Fenrisian blood lines :P Pretty good work, very dark overall though which makes picking out detail hard, and detracts from the conversion work as it's hard to see. Beef
conversions are good, the armour is to dark as it looks like you have overdone the badab black wash, the dark faces are fine as not all fenrisions are light skinned Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/236332-runepriest-and-thunderwolf-lord/#findComment-2849746 Share on other sites
Nrthstar
I love the conversion of the rune priest for sure! The paint job really gives a new meaning to grim dark. I like it though, it makes details hard to notice in some spots, but it reminds me the darker style of some comic book artists. Kami
well thanks for the many replies, beef: you're right I have overdone it with devlan mud. For the faces I think I could get away with saying that the heroes just don't have to look like coming fresh out of the shower. Thinking on movies like 13th warrior, where the faces are soot- and blood-smeared after battle. and nrth: when they turned out I was thinking the exact same thing, "grim dark" :) only thing is, the rest of my company happens to be brighter. on a side note: I would love to brawl with the inglorious drunkards, but I guess I have to wait for the next season, right? TnzeenchTheChangerOfWays
Your rune priest looks more like an Iron priest, could be either i guess :) Your rune priest looks more like an Iron priest, could be either i guess ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/236332-runepriest-and-thunderwolf-lord/#findComment-2850221 Share on other sites
