ShinyRhino
Hey all. I'm working on a Captain in TDA to use as a Belial/Lysander/Agemman (Ultrawing), but am having a hard time thinking of ways to make him actually look like an Independent Character that will stand out on the table from his troopers. Back banners are right out, as I've never been a fan of banners on infantry. The Terminator kits do have those little icon things that go on the top of the TDA torso housing, which is ok but very close to a banner in function. What are others using for TDA Captains to make them easily recognizable? Lorenzen
http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd199/typhion/brom.jpg that be mine, ignore the back banner if you dont like them though.. essentially all the usual trimmings a captain in power armour would have ie fancy shoulders, loincloths, trinkets, cape and an iron halo with the ultramarines id suggest forgeworld shoulderpads and all the usual roman style stuff.. somewhere inbetween calgar levels of bling and a termie sarge would do fine. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/236342-making-a-tda-captain-stand-out/#findComment-2847438 Share on other sites
Stolid Fox
Impressive basing can really help with this. Get some cork board, for example, to make an rock/building outcropping for him to stand on top of. e.g.: http://thepaintingcorps.blogspot.com/2009/...ork-basing.html Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/236342-making-a-tda-captain-stand-out/#findComment-2847524 Share on other sites
thade
I stick an Iron Halo bit or something else large and iconic on their head/back. I also trim their armor (which is otherwise in my Chapter's colors) in gold paint. Firedrake Cordova
What are others using for TDA Captains to make them easily recognizable? You could try: Iron Halo (PA Captain kit) Cape and/or braid (see PA Captain kit) Scenic base (Basing kit) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/236342-making-a-tda-captain-stand-out/#findComment-2847793 Share on other sites
Hemal
Sheathed swords / scabbards (most WHFB character kits). Ornate / archaic weapons (again WHFB - there are some BIG swords like the Runefang). Freehand heraldry and more complex designs. Golden or other-coloured armour. Cloak (Grenstuff works best). Trophy racks. Foregworld components. Some Greenstuff work on the armour to form a relief design Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/236342-making-a-tda-captain-stand-out/#findComment-2847834 Share on other sites
