Cool Terminator Poses

Hi Brothers,

I am looking for some inspiration in how to model up my terminators, I have found a large number of pictures of excellent paint jobs but what I am looking for is some ideas for the actual posing of terminator models.

Please could you post any cool conversions or poses that you have tried with your terminators.

Cheers,

Matt

Well, I don't know if these are cool or not, but I liked them.

Cheers,

A bit of theory, if you don't mind :)

Great many people assemble their terminators 'about face', with whole body facing forward. Now when you think about it, whenever you move fast, like when running or fighting, you are almost never situated with all body facing forward. This comes with a swinging movement of your arms - it rotates your torso with it, back and forth. Also when fighting, you don't display your chest to the opponent - you widen your stance for balance, you stand sideways to minimize the target area etc. If you're looking for some cool action poses, try looking at some action comic books etc, where there's a lot of this kind of posturing. Some tips might include:

- lean the torso a bit sideways or backwards,

- rotate the head opposite to where the rest of the body is facing

- don't glue the head straight up, try leaning it to the sides

- remember about balance - if the left leg is stepping forward, the left arm should be reaching back, that's the natural way a human body moves

- try to add some scenic element to your bases (rocks, planks, whatever) to make the surface under the model's feet angled; this opens up a whole lot of new possibilites.

And, of course, assemble your models 'dry' with BlueTack or something to try your poses before you glue them.

Hope this helps.

I always try to do something a little different or unusual, like a terminator holding a combi weapon double handed.... Also, if you like converting I find changing the legs so they arnt in that horrible squatting position does a lot by its self.

Here's some shameless self promotion ;)
