New chapters drinking from the cup of the Wulfen?

Im creating a new DIY chapter called the Knight Wolves: and i wanted to have them be a successor of the Black Templars, but iv been reading the Space Wolf books and i really liked how they reacted with the beast within, with the added strenghts of the wolf they seemed better prepared then other space marines. So the warriors of the chapter are going to be like barbaric crusaders! i need help on a few things.

1. is it possible to have a barrier of Rogal Dorns gene-seed and drink from the cup of the Wulfen?

2. how would i put it into fluff for the chapter, demand from the high lords or a deal/reward from Logan Grimnar?

3.if you get to number 2. what would be big enough to earn something like that?

Personally, I have no issue with it, but be prepared from others.

My friend has a Space Wolf Successor, because thats what he wants, and I think it is wrong to say he can't, but other plays do not think as I do.

Both of those chapters are widely considered a no go.

+Edit+

But I do have to answer those questions honestly

1) No, but you can have your own thing that is not the Space Wolf thing. I don't have a problem with a SW successor, but I have a problem with IF successors doing SW stuff (in the Cup of the Wolfen).

2) No. You can get rewards from chapters, but you can not demand them from anyone.

3) Saving their lives.

If you want SW stuff (like the Wulfen) but want them to be crusaders still, make them a SW successor that is fleet based... ^_^

Honestly, I think you are going about it the wrong way. Reading through your post, the key bit seems to be "i really liked how they reacted with the beast within". You don't need to drink from the Cup of the Wulfen to achieve this, it can be a psychological thing. If you have ever seen the film Lord of War, Vitaly has a sign saying "Beware of the Dog" to remind him to be more human. Space Marines could have something similar, that they are aware of the awesome killing potential that is witihn them all and they need to be "Aware of the Animal" inside of them.

No. Is the short answer.

But its your chapter, so technically you can do whatever you want, though generally we encourage players to stay away from doing something MASSIVE for a well established chapter (like SW). And the HLoT would not do something like that, generally, and if they did, then we would most likely have been inflrmed by GW. The biggest problem with something important like this is: why the heck dont we already know about it?

I would stay away from it, if you want something similar the twi routes to go are geneseed mutations and/or radiation reacting with the geneseed. That is very plausible, and the one id try and work out.

There is one and only one space wolf sucessor chapter, The wolf brothers. Generally using Russ Seed is a No no. The High lords are more willing to use Sanguinius Gene Seed and Look what that brings with it, So that has to say something about the Wolf Gene seet. You can allways make them the XYZ sucessor of XYZ legion and just use/Adopt SW codex rules with the correct renaming and counts as it can work well.

you just happened to have picked two of the loyalists chapters that the high lords are least likely to make successors from, that doesn't mean you can't incorporate the ideas into your unique chapter.

there is vast ways you could get to the point you want to be at...

For example, White scars gene seed is known to be quite savage and merciless.. make a successor of them, place them on a world with particular reverence to some kind of predator, doesnt have to be wolves. The Chapter adopts the reverence for the predators and adopts the consumption of the flesh. Over the course of generations the chapter finds that ... A. they are digesting the predators are starting to merge with their genetic DNA... B. There is a warp storm or a librarian goes crazy and causes the predators to become fused into the marines... C. they could alter their appearance and their ideology and combat doctrine to mimic the beasts.

they could also be made to patrol an area of space to X threat.

hey thanks for the feed back this is really helpful. on the thing with the white scars is smart but i know nothing about them

thats a good idea about having a world with a predator that is the reverence of the chapter i think to avoid too much inaccurate history ill go with that
