Wysten
I really admit, I love the purity of your gold and the colour of the armour.... Thats codex grey, right? Man, time to repaint it seems. Wulfebane
I pondered this for many an evening before I took the plunge.. My scheme is: Fenris Grey -> Badab Black Wash -> 50:50 Fenris/Space Wolf Grey -> 50:50 Shadow Grey/Space Wolf Grey. I was playing with a pre-heresy scheme but wasn't sure I had the skill to make it not look like a drab grey. Hopefully I have achieved a moody inbetween. I admit I am not the greatest painter in the world (especially compared to some of the stuff here which is simply stunning), but here is my modest WIP. Apologies for the pic quality. Spacewolves WIP[/url] First post to the boards, so hello everyone! Tim Welcome to the Fang! I like the armor blend and your details are well done. If I had one gripe, it would be that you clearly use washes, but your non-helmeted heads are sorely lacking definition. I'd toss a layer of Ogryn Flesh Wash or two at them, then highlight as needed. WG Vrox
- Best advise I can give is look through all the painting thread and decide which color you like and send a message to that person asking them what they used. Freman Bloodglaive
Although I've used Shadow Grey over black for my army up to this point, I did paint up a Wolf Lord/Battle Leader/Lone Wolf model in Adeptus Battle Grey, and it looks quite good. skawolf
I basecoat the model black, then paint the armoured areas shadow grey. I then put down a few layers of watered down space wolf grey leaving shadow grey in the, well, shadowed areas (i.e the recesses, where the armour plates meet) I then wash this with Gryphone sepia and get a really cool greenish, bluish, grey. I then highlight the edges with space wolf grey. I can post a pic if you like or you can click my sig and go to pages 5 and 6 to see the wolves :P Edit: maybe even onto pages 7 and 8 :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/236472-what-is-a-good-wolfy-color/page/2/#findComment-2853757 Share on other sites
