biglou666
Hi there, its biglou :) ive spent most of my time on this forum lurking in the inquisistion and blood angel sections, but now, for the first time in years, im reverting back to the vanilla codex. I want to Start an iron hands succesor chapter, as i love bionics on the marine models, and theres plenty of scope for customisation on models, and making personal chapter fluff :) I already know what my basic structure for the army will be. Pedro kantor will be remodeled and renamed, to lead an armour and sternguard list ( combi meltas  ). My chapter colours are tinbitz, washed in baal red, with mechrite red trim (perhaps higlighted with blood red) looks rather nice, ill add my test painting models to this thread soon. But I have no idea what to call them. The chapter symbol is a Small metal hand holding on to a power sword, if thats helps. Im taking reccomendations on the name, colour scheme, and structure of my army :) thanks in advance to y'all :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/236506-starting-an-iron-hands-sucessor-chapter/ Share on other sites
Ironwrought Huw
To me, the colour scheme (red and metal) comes to suggests the Iron Hands Adeptus Mechanicus links - how about (the) Sons of the Machine ? Or perhaps (the) Forge Breakers? Do you have any fluff for them? Khorne Worny
Well my first step is not call them Sons of the Forge thats what my Iron Hands Sucessors CHapter is called. As for naming your chapter think along names of metals and judgeing by you loving melta think of something hot and burning or maybe use the sword in your chapter symbol. As the Forge part of my chapters name is after the 11 or so plasma cannons in my army. Hope this should kick start you in the right direction of were to look and rember taking a name you made all by yourself makes your army that little bit more unique. Khine
=p Ignis you playful skamp, someone will pick up your chapters name some day. but seriously.. going with what his chapter is likely to be .. the use of meltas.. the powersword in an iron hand... it may actually work for him o.o other names.. Molten Might Grimdark marines >.> ...... Arikel
Tin bits is more a copper color than bronze, but The Brazen Blades has a nice alliterative ring to it. BassWave
Yes! Another son of Mannus! I find it interesting that Pedro is such a popular choice for a counts as Iron Hand commander, I too chose him as my first choice. I would also check out Chaplain Cassius, he fits in very well with his bionics special rules ;) As for names- Disciples of the Omnissiah Molten Blades The Blades of the Omnissiah The Blades of Mannus I also put in a vote for the Brazen Blades :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/236506-starting-an-iron-hands-sucessor-chapter/#findComment-2850547 Share on other sites
Azekai
Personally I think that the Knights of Cydonia makes a kickass name for an IH successor . . . (Cydonia being a region on Mars, of course ) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/236506-starting-an-iron-hands-sucessor-chapter/#findComment-2850610 Share on other sites
Castiel
Knights of Cydonia, an aMUSEing suggestion! How about The Gorgon's Sons for a name? Ferrata
It all depends on how much you are wanting to develop them. If you wish to develop them quite a lot, just call them a place-holder name until something right comes up from your background. If they are going to be dark-natured then the Tarnished Blades would make sense, but if they are going to be "good guys" then Angelic Blades would make more sense. For name just call them "the Blades". If this is as far as you are going to take the background then anything will work - like Ebony Blades or Blades of Badham... The_son_of_Dorn
Call em the emperors war machines, give em red and black quatering for a paint shceme to reconise their decendants from the iron hands and mechanicum then make sure you include a dreadnought with cookies :woot: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/236506-starting-an-iron-hands-sucessor-chapter/#findComment-2850940 Share on other sites
biglou666
wow, this thread has got such good reception! :D i now have too many names to choose from xD but yes, my top three are: The Blades of the Omnisiah, The Purifiers, and; The Brazen Blades. A decision will be made when my tactical squads are put together :) i am still open to suggestions untill then :) As for Fluff, i am thinking of perhaps adding a few ties to the ultramarines. In the earlier years of the space marines, they aided the ultras in many of thier planetary assualts in return for a few mechanicus goodies :) more to come. Allerka
Excellent, more sons of Ferrus is always a Good Thing! If you want to go for ties to the Ultramarines, check out SCC's Brazen Claws article. My own Lords of Oblivion (who are also Iron Hands gene-seed) are descended from SCC's version of the Brazen Claws, which I used to help explain why they're more Codex than the Iron Hands. Julgolax
Steel Spartans Bionic Guard Marines Cybernetica Scions of Steel The Forged Brotherhood of Iron Mechamarines Those are some possible names, I'm really not much of a fan of the techno-centrics but I do like their color scheme. Arikel
If you do go for ties to the ultras it also means you can use the awesome Telion mini without having to clean up the ultra symbols on him and put him in UM colors. He's just dropped by for a visit to teach yer newbie marines how to shoot properly. I love that particular bit of fluff.
