Khiros
I didn't know where this belonged, sorry. Anyways, I was wondering a couple things. First of all, does anyone know where I might find transfers of Pre-Heresy Death Guard chapter symbols? Also, what are everyone's opinions on weathering powders vs painting for rust effects? Worth the time/effort/money? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/236611-pre-heresy-death-guard-questions/ Share on other sites
Skolia
You can find the decals under the Downloads Section at the top of the page. Then Decals -> Pre-Heresy. LaCroix
i wouldnt worry about going too nuts over the rust effects much. i'd go the more battle hardened look than the nasty unclean look lol guess it depends on if you are going for the true pre heresy look or the during heresy look Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/236611-pre-heresy-death-guard-questions/#findComment-2852282 Share on other sites
Cyrox
Agreed - i'm sure the armour wouldn't rust anyways What you should go for is dirt, dings and scratches, so they look like they've just done a week long battle in the trenches Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/236611-pre-heresy-death-guard-questions/#findComment-2852371 Share on other sites

I'm planning on modeling the army to look like its mid-way through the change, so I'll have some models who look like normal Space Marines (in Mk.II-III armor, mostly), and others will look like the Plague Marines from the box set. Anyways, I'm wanting to model the non-decaying models after this image: http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/mediawiki/images/b/be/DeathGuard2.jpg That's why was asking about weathering powders. Dirt and mud and grime can be done, I just don't know how to use the powders. esinhorn
I would totally add one smal bit of rust with a streak coming from a rusty bolt bolt or scractch as Harbringer of what is to come. Khiros
There's going to be a little rust, but the models aren't going to be covered in rust.
