Metal Apostle
Vow completed. After chain late nights and hiding away during the Easter holidays I managed to complete my LPC vow. I just hope my submission made it in time! To my knowledge the day was over but the event hadn't been closed yet... I guess we'll see. Quite proud of myself really, so here goes: The speeders The bases The guns... More guns.. Quick tip: if you have a lot of magnetized guns, an old cookie tin makes for a very good organizer (rather than have them suddenly attract and stick to one another!) also good for holding them for spraying. Some details And of course, the mandatory group shot. And now, I shall sleep.
Firepower
Cripes man, that was quite a speedy job, especially considering the colors and the models. And they still look pretty damn good despite the rush.
TalonofHatred
amazing stuff. I always thought White Scars were badass, and you do them justice!
Metal Apostle
I'm back, brothers! Been away from B&C for a little while- mostly due to the laziness of taking photos so i've just been dumping them on the White Scars FB page (Here, for fellow Khans: https://www.facebook.com/groups/508399122516911/ )Rest assured, the white horde has still been growing. Just as I thought things would slow down this juicy new codex gives my beloved chapter the attention it deserves! Anyway, here's some more speeder love. As a White Scar invention, I'm going to need some Land Speeder Tempests but I always figured the FW version could do with a little more work so I built my own. It's based on the Land Speeder Storm with bits from Baal predators, drop pod wings and a flakkload of plasticard to give it that mobile, flying predator feel. Still WIP but the tough part is over- next up is more rivits, decorations and of course- guns.
Dosjetka
Well, I for one am glad to see you back among us! I really like those Tempests and look forward to see them painted. Any chance of pictures of the stuff you've done during your "hiatus"?
Lysimachus
And here we see what Gdubs should have done instead of the Stormtalon. Awesome thread in general too.
Brother Pheidias
Dorns' Blood, those are great. Always great to see White Scars, especially when they're this well-done!
apologist
Great work – seeing them all finished must be very rewarding. It's a treat for us!
Sohail187
Dude really really nice work. Mate of mine gave me htis link as i am soon to start my own white scars. I am curious to know the method for battle dmg sponge? or brush. also if you do not mind sharing, what was the method behind the missile launchers.I currently have magnetised doors on my land speeders for the missiles, however it is hard work to get that done. This method seems alot easier.
Metal Apostle
Cheers for all the support!I'd love to show what i've been up to but they're on display at my LGS! Will take some photos next time i'm down there... As for the missiles, first I assembled them, then cut the arms down to the length I was happy with. From there, I made a simple mount using a flat piece of plasticard and a magnet. Then I glued plastic rod on either side for stablitiy and to make it look a bit more detailed. It really doesnt matter too much because you don't end up seeing it very well, so long as you can join the missile pods to a magnet you'll be fine! Firepower
Such tasty, tasty work. One thing that popped out at me though: why is Gale's name tag immaculate, while everything else is beat to hell and dirtied up?
Metal Apostle
Haha, Firepower- The Gale has its name plate clean because... well... because I missed it, really! Will be sure to remember on the next one! As for what I had been up to during my lazyposting period, first I completed a squad of sniper scouts which won my LGS's 40k Squad catergory; I'll get more shots when I'm able, but I was able to snap a few before my game last week. I'm actually really proud of that squad which came with Neltoi the Headtaker, a sharpshooting Veteran Sergeant with a Stalker Bolter.... Unfortunately since the new codex, that's now a redundent but still very cool model. In the meantime, here's 3 of his squad: I also built myself a Chapterhouse Stormraven! Figured I'd try my hand at some more complex freehand for this one... I wanted to also bring in a little more concept with this one too. At my LGS I'm famous for failing dangerous terrain tests, so I was hoping the scenic base would help lift the curse. With that in mind, I give you The Phoenix. This is what I fielded the other day at 1750pts (Also made the display tray.. makes carrying models around easier) The game was a draw by time-out (I had a meeting), but I now come prepared to my battles... If I lose, I lose as a loyal Son of The Khan!
Dosjetka
Scouts: Love the mix of bits, very characterful. Stormraven: Oh my... That is just mind-blowingly awesome  Display base: A bit bare, but it looks good. Objective marker: Nice! Dice & White Scars codex: Epic :tu:
TheSanityAssassin
Looking great. I've never been one to dirty up models like that, especially white ones, but it comes across really well. The Raven is fantastic too!
