Elric the Silvercoat
I am going to a tournment this weekend that is 1750 point and was wondering if this would be good in a list. Ragnar PA Wolf Guard with mixed weapons all in a Land Raider. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/236786-need-alittle-help-with-an-idea/ Share on other sites
Grimtooth
It could work but ends up being a ton of points for 1750pts. Might find some savings going with a Wolf Guard led Grey Hunter pack instead. Of course not as many power weapons/fists, but a very solid unit with Ragnar. Maybe even add a wolf priest. Valerian
At 1750 you don't have a ton of extra points to spare. If you are already planning on using Ragnar and a Land Raider, do as Brother Ramses suggests and just attach him to a Grey Hunter pack (with a Wolf Guard Leader). It will be plenty powerful enough, and will still count as a Scoring unit (which a large pack of Wolf Guard would not). Here is the setup that I have run several times with great success: Ragnar Wolf Guard Leader in PA with Thunderhammer 8x Grey Hunters with 1 Power Fist, 1 Wolf Standard, 1 Flamer all riding in a Land Raider Phobos with Pintle-mounted Multi-melta This unit will hit hard enough to take on almost any other unit in the game, especially when you are patient, and soften up the enemy army prior to launching the Land Raider forward. I like to keep it back and shoot all of the Land Raider's weapons for at least a turn or two, see where I need to apply force, and use the 20" charge range to assault where it'll do the most good. Valerian p.s. This is my 3,000th post Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/236786-need-alittle-help-with-an-idea/#findComment-2854190 Share on other sites
