Looking for suggestions.

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,

Looking for suggestions to model a Melta / Plasma onto what would be a small tank based remote control unit. Preferably tank treads.

If you've ever seen a bomb squad tank, I'm trying to mimic that.

Does anyone have a quick model they can think of that would be suffice?

I was thinking some flames of war tank treads to get the effect, but I'm unsure if they're what I'm looking for.

If anyone has suggestions, I'm totally open to hearing them!

There was an old Ork model not to sure what it was (I only have the treads) would be looking into...

Sounds like a wartrakk. These are pretty close in size to the Thunderfire cannons tracks. Ramshakle games sells lots of different resin bits, among them a few tracks in similar sizes. There is a line of toys/ miniatures called robogear, which is pretty popular among ork players for conversions.

+edit+ if it's a metal part it might be one of the old gorkamorka bioniks. These are pretty hard to find nowadays.

These are all pretty big though if you want to build something like a gun servitor or anything else on a normal 25mm base. Micro Arts has a range of "techno priest" or something like that, which includes, a gunservitor-like model on a 40mm base. For everything smaller (with just the weapon on top) I'd say epic, flames of war or other 15mm tank would probably work. You could look into normal scale models as well. Stuff like halftracks or halftrack bikes or civilian vehicle like dozers. The back of the old ork bikes and one variant of the new bikes also has small tracks in the back.

Depends on teh size - if you want a bomb-squad style robot there are many decent epic models with tracks that would be suitably scaled. Tehre is also teh Rapier laser detsroyer or the forgeworld cyclops demolition vehcile

I was going to say the Cyclops demoltion vehcile too it thing it can fit in the back of a Chimera and it only takes up like four to six slots for troops so I was thinking that would fit with what you want right? They are only like 14 US dollars so they are cheap and they really do fit in the back of a Chimera you can literally put them inside of the Chimera model with alot of room left over.
