Anybody wanna help with some fluff?

I've just named + emblem-ed my chapter.

The emblem is a fist (so I can use imperial/crimson fist characters, and paint them my colours)

but I can't think of any fluff, I think something to do with them being part of crimson fists, BEFORE they all got their arses handed to them ;)

The name can be subject to change, it's currently at *insert adjective here* fists.

Thanks, any help appreciated

I don't know about the name, as i'm am the worst at them. LITERALLY!

However some background.....

The ....Fists had a good beginning, utterly destroying a minor DE cabal, though the Archon escaped and is a bitter enemy to this day. Their yong victories were offset however, by the high casaulties in the latter years, particuarly amongst the scouts. This is partly due to the caution(paranoia) of the Chapter, which has changed their usual stubborness to a indomitable determination to never quit the field of battle till all enemies are vanquished, both visibloe and hidden. This knack for rooting out dissedents has earnt them the ire of some highly placed officials, whose family members were part of one of their purges.

Early ideas, feel free to discount.

Well they're battle scarred, with some old tech vindicator and bullet holes in the armour etc.

I regularly play against chaos (my dad)

And I've had some amazing victories against tyranids.

So they would fit into being a successor of the crimson fists, before they got their backsides kicked, but tyranids are quite recent...

edit: I don't have my codex anymore, so I can't look at traits, but I'll try and get a pdf

Those aren't personality traits, though. Those are things they have done, not things they are (though they can be extrapolated into personality traits).

Are they happy? Sad? Angry? Dedicated? Do they get along with other chapters or dislike other chapters? Do they like the Inquisition? Do they think the Emperor is a god, or just a man? Is there hope for the Imperium, or is mankind doomed? Are Space Marines better than humans, worse, or just different? Has fighting Chaos so much made them resent Chaos particularly, or do they just look at them as another enemy to be destroyed? How do they see the Codex - is it the divine word of the Emperor, a good tactical manual, or a cynical attempt by the Ultramarines to exert their dominance? How do they see their duty to the Imperium - do they want to destroy the enemies of humanity, or do they want to protect people, or do they want to protect the structure of the Imperium.

How do they think?

Are any astartes happy? :cuss

Well they're bound to get along with the successors of the fists, which would mean they probably wouldn't like the inquisition, and remain hopeful about the imperium. They're old and tired really, they stick to the codex however, and that's about it really :L

whatever you decide to do with them, lets just say they did some fighting over there by the ghoul stars, nobody ever talks about that, it's always "the eye of terror!!!!" and all that nonesuch. ignore that, your main opponent is chaos, throw your guys right near the eye of terror etc. furthermore, as a legion whose main enemy is chaos, they should be especially suspicious of psykers etc.

How about:

The ...Fists are descendants of the Crimson fists, formed from a cadre of veterans after the defeat of the scythians. Commander Mortez and his immediate retinue were instrumental in putting the stamp of the previous chapter upon the new incumbents.

Level-headed and wise to the bitter ways of the Galaxy, the ...Fists were set to the task of keeping an unruly sector under control. The Imperium could ill afford the uprisings at *Location* and as a crusade fleet, the ....Fists were keen to make their mark. This *location* turned out to be a hotbed of insurrectionists/rebels and was rife with plots to secede from the Imperium.

After a campaign of "x" years, the ....Fists, discovered the activities of the Alpha Legion. Burning thier cultists from thier holes the ...Fists keep a keen eye on the ways of that Chaos Legion and have sworn to destroy them, every heretic defeated bringing the Imperium closer to a return of it's Golden Age.

The ....Fists are loyal inheritors of Alexis Polux, embracing the codex and it's beliefs, knowing that to stray is to become like the Alpha Legion.

My tuppence.

MR.

You're most welcome. Hope it helped and gave you a few threads to run with. I'm with DreamWeaver on where to base them EoT sounds like a reasonable area given that there are plenty of Chaos boys and other threats there.

Taking the idea of the the chapter being very level headed: sanguine

Given the High Gothic is, in reality, bad latin.

Given that the latin word for "fist" is "pugnus".

Pugnus Sanguinis.

The Sanguine Fists.

So on and so forth.

Just some random thoughts.
