Brother Nihm
I just want to see the stories progress really, up to and after the Siege of Terra. There's been way too many side-stories and superfluous offshoots and it has diluted the whole series too much already. Iron Lord
I may be VERY wrong but I understood that The big E as he was being placed on the Throne, sucked Malcadors soul, (The first soul draining by the big E) The power of The Sig's Soul being such that it allowed The E to speak to his sons; The Khan and Dorn.. He gave The Khan a mission in the Webway to find the means to ressurect him from the Throne. Correct me if I'm wrong....!?! Don't know about his soul- but he does say, in Collected Visions, that the dying Malcador reserved a last bit of energy to give to the Emperor- which was enough to allow him to speak his last few words on the Throne. I don't remember him giving the Khan a mission though. Hyaenidae
1. I'd love to see the White Scars get some love...they are too often ignored. Hopefully written by Dan Abnett; I feel his writing style would be good for the Khan's sons. And I swear to God, if their part in defending Terra is only referenced to, or only gets a short story, I will be severley ticked off. 2. Some more on the DA vs Night Lords campaign would be nice, the short story that A D-B did left me hungry for more. 3. An Iron Warriors novel. Please, oh dear God please, an Iron Warriors novel!! Mr. McNeil, you better already be working on this, lol. 4. The war in the Webway, without a doubt. Custodes and Sisters of Silence holding off a never ending tide of daemons? Yes please. 5. The fighting between the Wolves of Fenris and the Alpha Legion as the Wolves try to reach Terra. That would be an extremley bloody and awesome book, lol. And maybe a little more Titan vs Titan action. I freaking love Titans. Grizzly_bear
I would really like to see an iron cage book as others have said, but also start of the codex and break up of the legions, as a son of Dorn I would love there to be a book or two on Dorns emotions along with Sigismund (correct my spelling if wrong) and Polloux the Crimson fists first chapter master. Tezzy
Blood Angels: What they were like as a legion before Sanguinius' death, all about Sanguinius himself in the events of the siege of Terra and how the BA went on to handle the Red Thirst and etc. World Eaters: A book about them as a legion in the Great Crusade and how they became the Khorne Bezerkers we now know them as, I'm itching for ADB's take on them. White Scars: Something, anything. Night Lords: I want as much character background and development on Night Haunter as possible, he has to be one of the most interesting Primarchs to cover. Also, plenty of novels/compilation novels of the scouring period. I don't think a book about the Dark Angels and the Space Wolves fighting to get to Terra would make for a good, full blown novel but a short story would be great. I wouldn't mind one of those about the Space Wolves and the Alpha Legion too. Grimdarkness
Some foreshadowing we've seen Siggy what about pollex The crimson fist chapter master. with the battle of calth upcoming some ultra captains that may become chapter masters in the future. Heck why not conformation of the soul drinkers as a 2nd founding The white scars flaw it would be nice to know if it was a problem during the great crusade. I'll say aging the Dark Angels and the Wolves crusading together before the siege of terra and there fight to get to terra. Ashur
About the White Scars, anything will be nice. However, I would like to hear more about the opinion Horus voiced in the Collected Visions: he said Jaghatai Khan could side with him eventually. The only Legion Horus thought could still be corrupt after the beginnig of the Heresy. This could give a unique approach to the WS and an interesting set of questions to answer. Why did Horus thought Jaghatai could be more loyal to him, or at least opostunistic enough to side with him? How did the Khan react to the Heresy and why did he took the decision to remain loyal? Claws of Corax
I really want to see what Malcador does with Garro and the Astartes he had brought together. :) Can't figure out if they are the beginning of the Deathwatch or the Grey Knights or what. The Audio dramas were decent but leave you hanging. ;) The deathwatch isnt created till well after the great heresy. In a conclave of Inquisitors who forsee a dark (xenos) threat sweeping across the galaxy they petition the Astartes to create a chamber militant to fight the xenos threats. This is according to the Deathwatch RPG books.. So my guess is that Malcador is making the Grey Knights.. Iron Lord
The Grey Knights codex actually says that Malcador helped set up the Grey Knights. The Inquisitorial Ordos (according to Dark Heresy: Daemon Hunter) weren't split up into the three main ones, till after the Age of Apostasy. Before then, the Grey Knights were the Chamber Militant of the Inquisition as a whole. Ubermensch Commander
Whatever our gracious overlords give us :P More focus on the Raven Guard and Salamanders to flesh them out a bit. More appearances and bits about the Imperium as a whole: particularly Custodes, but the Sisters of Silence, Rememberances, the assorted nobility and commofolk. The Legionaries Astartes make up a tiny, tiny part of the Imperium as a whole. I want to see the realm they were created to protect and how its citizens react to all this madness. We have been given some nice bits so far (looking at you, Nemesis) but I would enjoy seeing a bit more. Basically MORE! hahaha. Norbus
Call me nuts, but I'd like to see more stuff about the making of the Lectitio Divinatatus. The Imperial Cult is such a huge factor in the "modern" fluff. It would be nice to see it fleshed out a bit more. Especially as, until the HH series, I always assumed the Emperors apotheosis didn't occur until some time after he ascended the Golden Throne. Warsmith IV
The IRON WARRIORS! A couple of other things, but I'm just gonna focus on them for now... 1. The occasion where Horus proclaims Perturabo the master of siege warfare, Fulgrim asks Dorn if the Palace walls could hold back the IW, Dorn says yes and Perturabo goes MENTAL. As part of a novel, it wouldn't even have to be about the IW. 2. The fall of Olympia. This I think is worth a novel pretty much to itself, framed by the purging of the Hrud and Isstvan V. 3. Battle of the Phall System. Short story would probably suit. 4. The rising bitterness in the Legion and the Primarch (obviously this would be spread throughout) 5. Th Siege of Terra. Obvious, really. Basically, give the IW a novel already! Although I'm not in the fanboy camp of Graham McNeill doing it. I really liked Storm of Iron, and he covers siege wargare well but... I just hate Honsou, so I wouldn't mind if someone else got it. Ideally AD-B. McNeil would be great for the Pre-Heresy Iron Warriors (Storm of Iron forever sealed that opinion for me), plus Honsou is an abberition tactics-wise within the IW's and he wouldn't be around yet. He was a late-comer to the Long War. And you gotta admit that it'd be cool to see Kroeger and Forrix pre-heresy, lol. No offence to A D-B, but the only other person I'd feel comfortable writing about my favorite Legion would be Rob Sanders. He did pretty dang well with the Iron Within short story, so he gets my thumbs up. On top of that, A D-B has his plate pretty full, I'd say. If he wrote every Horus Heresy book like mosty everyone on this site seems to want, we wouldn't finish the series within our lifetimes. Apothecary Vaddon
The recent short story(ies) by Iforgetwho were really good for the IW. Granted, it had to do with the loyalist IW, but they were still pure awesome. And ADB did a short story about the Lion and why he didn't go to Terra immediately. Dunno if someone already brought this up, though... Yeah, there were some cool things, but I'm not sure Rob would be able to do an IW novel justice - especially since it would be from the Chaos point of view. I just dunno if his style would work for Chaos IW. On top of that, A D-B has his plate pretty full, I'd say. If he wrote every Horus Heresy book like mosty everyone on this site seems to want, we wouldn't finish the series within our lifetimes. I know, it's not realistic, and tbh AD-B may not suit the IW. Who knows, he's done nothing even remotely similar to their style. I did like the way Perturabo comes accross in the first 2 chapters of Aurelian though. And I get that Honsou isn't around but... I'm just concerned McNeill may make another character who, quite frankly, I consider to be very bad at being an IW. Hyaenidae
Fair enough, but pretty much every other Iron Warrior character McNeil has made has been pretty cool. Honestly, I am a HUGE HUGE fan of Cadaras Grendel, plus Warsmiths Berossus and Toramino were pretty much spot on, in my opinion. Like I said, I think Honsou was an abberition, an attempt at a form of asymmetrical warfare for the IW's. Every other IW he's created was pretty much badass. Agree to disagree, I guess, lol. It was a look into what pre-heresy IW believed and what that meant to them. Loved it as a result. Of course, if people are looking for a CSM IW novel, then yeah, he's definitely not the guy to do it. ANCIENT FALOR
This is what id like to see. Bear with me.... 1) A short story on a group of loyalist break out from the urgall Depression, when all hell broke lose. (The raven guard warrrior leading a mixed group of salamander and few remaining morlocks through all the slaughter to extract themselves) 2) several legion elements in the middle of a compliance campaign. Then becoming a aware of the heresy.(Say a detchment of 1k sons, Night lords, World Eaters, blood angels ) Then facing the threat of corruption chaos . With something important to the balance of the war being uncovered. Tough choices of sacrifice, loyalty and betrayl being made on the fringes of the imperium. 3) A novel for imperial fists and world eaters. 4) Something on how the technology to mass produce deadnoughts and terminator armor was lost. Fighting over manufacturing facilities with more plot added by author. 5) How the libarians were reinstsated. Facing chaos during the heresy. Libarians were the imperiums most potent weapon to combat daemons and such. 6) a novel featuring daemons. Besides signus prime. Not the battles so much, but the Blood Angels coping with the first signs of their red thirst and their wounded Primarch.
