Further HH Novels (What YOU want to see)

William King's short story on the climactic Emperor-Horus battle has been like the gospal truth for me on it for so many years. I'd love to see him being the one to build on it, make it even more epic and telling the whole story while keeping it along the same lines. Whenever they finally do do the Battle of Terra, which could well be years off yet, I hope either he writes it (or the last book on it!) or whoever does keeps the final events along the same lines. Emperor battling hordes of creatures on the demonically twisted ship and so on.

For the HH series, I'd like to see the events of the warp jump orchestrated by Typhon that leads to the Death Guard and Mortarion turning to Nurgle. Something that gets inside Mortarion's head a little could be enlightening.

And while it's not HH, y'know...I'd really love to see some novels on the Age of Apostasy. That always sound like a fantastic story to be told in greater detail.

GW's already spoofed that scene in Warhammer Armies: Skaven- with a slave leader with a suspiciously similar-sounding name leading a revolt- the slaves being offered a pardon if they identified him- and all 10,000 pointing at their leader.

I want to see more about Konrad Curze and his upbringing and what exactly happened to the Night Lords to have almost the entire Legion replaced from Terran recruits to Nostramo recruits in a relatively short time frame.

I want to see the Ullanor crusade with the Emperor and several of the Legions against the Orcs. Just on sheer scope that is IIRC the largest military engagement in the Great Crusade and the Horus Heresy in its entirety except for Istvaan and the battle at Terra.

I want to see novels focused on Mortarion and Perturabo. I also would like to see Angron and the World Eaters. There should be at the minimum one novel focused on each Legion both Traitor and Loyalist that explains how they either turned or why they stayed loyal.

Well put.

1) Battle of Terra from Sanguinius' point of view up to his unfortunate death =\

2) As mentioned by a few, Blood Angels at Signus Prime

3) Dorn vs Perturabo, the Iron cage incident

4) Maybe a collection of stories featuring the surviving primarchs in their last moments with their legion/chapters before they head off to do whatever

Would like to see:

-Something more focussed on the World Eaters, White Scars, Iron Warriors, or Imperial Fists

-Blood Angels at Signus

-Typhon's warp jump fail

-The Drop Site Massacre from the point of view of either the Sally's, the Raven Guard, or one of the four traitors

-Just continue the HH series until it reaches 999.M41 :)

I would love to see more about the Salamanders other than what happened at Istvann, some new interesting info because up until know they are in the HH just to be wipped out.

Also more about the cabal, their point of view about the heresy and if they keep contacting the Alpha legion

William King is a great writer but he is not very grimdark, with bantering dialogue and comic relief. With Fangs and bolters or axes and noserings he does it fairly well! Not all the Space Wolf novels were great but Space Wolf, Grey Hunter (fave 40k book), and Wolfblade were very good! He is truly the "King of High Adventure" hehe. Loved that dust-jacket bite!

Signus Prime is already mentioned to be covered in the future yes?

1) Dark Mechanicus: I need the full fall of Mars. I need it!

2) I know they have already gotten alot of love, but the Lion and the Wolf.

3) Iron Hands!

4) Siege of Terra in 4 books; 3 from ImpFist, BA and White Scars perspective and then the daddy, The Vengeful Spirit

5) Iron Warriors perspective piece on Perturabo with pieces in Epic form or like an epic theme, ala Virgil and Augustus. Yeah yeah, I know, another "Remembrancer" piece :D

6) Eldar book. I know I know, 'Space Elves in Horus Heresy, HERESY!' I think it would be cool ^.^

A Perturabo book would definitely be good, perhaps in part because he seems such a grumpy sullen bugger at the best of times.

And yes, Signus Prime is going to be covered in James Swallow's 'Fear To Tread' around (I think) Sept next year, sound like a good one.

Aliens didn't take part in Horus Heresy, Eldrad was trying to tell Fulgrim about treason but Phoenician was alrady corrupetd. Cabal...it looks like they forced Alpharius to join Horus and allow loyal legion to fall into chaos taint.

I see no intresting thing in aliens in HH. Whish to see more Dorn stuff, he played huge role in HH and there is still little about him. I would like to see how Space Wolves and Dark Angels dealt whit their own engagements and how they combined their force and rushed to help Terra.

I love Dorn but there's already a lot about him. Horus Rising, The Flight of the Eisenstein, Mechanicum, Nemesis, Age of Darkness, The Outcast Dead and The Dark King/The Lightning Tower.

And I know that aliens didn't took direct part in HH but they were there. The Imperium was weaker, torn by a galactic-scale civil war, of course other races used it for their own gains.

Yup, there were Eldar talking with Fulgrim, the Cabal and Alpharius stuff, also Watchers from Caliban.... There's also this thing with someone helping Space Wolves on their way to Terra. Eldar perhaps?

Horus Heresy was a big thing. Really big thing. Chaos energies running wild, unleashed at large, killing millions. I'm sure Eldar wasn't just looking at it from Craftworlds.

- A novel based on the Emperor's conquest of Terra, to the point where he starts creating the Primarchs (The truth of where the Emperor got the knowledge and resources in creating them), as well as how he met Malcador the Siligite (which will lead to a novel based on Malcador the Siligite :) )

As much written about the various legion champions and characters from the era from pre-Heresy, the siege of Terra, the Scouring and finally as the aftermath of those events such as the second founding and the breaking of the traitor legions into war-bands within the eye of Terror.

Abbadon the Despoiler, Kharne the Betrayer, Lucius the Eternal, Argel Tal the Crimson Lord as well as the likes of Sigismund and Azkaellon.

I always thought the series would end with the siege of Terra, but then I watched this interview with A D-B again and he says "We try to introduce characters that move on beyond just one book. The show up in other books, the show up on the siege of Terra and they may even show up afterwards". I guess this opens for the series to continue beyond The siege of Terra -even though i personally feel that the siege (preferable from Dorns and/or Sanguinius perspective) would make a natural conclusion...

That's a bit vague - it's just a reference to characters appearing in 40K as well as 30K. I'm usually the most public advocate of the series ending sooner rather than later, and I'd never knowingly imply the HH series would go on past the Siege of Terra. (Personally, I'd argue against it if they suggested it.) In several more recent interviews, I've said a few times that "The series has got to end at some point, none of us want it to drag on."

So don't take that old vague reference as a hint or anything, dude.

Agreed there is only so much you can do before it gets tiring.

Can see BL milking it for as long as possible though, sales for this series are pretty damn high and will be very noticeable profit drop once it's all over
