Have the Dreadknight Bug

Newtype

Recommended Posts

It's been a long time since posting any work, but I have been bitten by the Dreadknight conversion bug.

Now during this build I saw the Transformers movie, and all I can say is, Optimus Prime rules. So I have this image of the Dreadknight striking a Optimus Prime pose with sword arm and battle cannon. The story would be that one of the first Dreadknight Warriors was intered into a Dreadnought. But after centuries of service, his skills were so missed that his damaged Dreadnought was converted into a Dreadknight Frame.

Hence we get:

More to come as I paint and weather.

Ok. New pictures of Dreadknight Prime with the main colours added and weathered. I tried to give the sword a heated look by stippling yellows, orange and white along the blade, then followed it with an very weak orange glaze. Should I add a gloss coat, or another layer of glaze? Need some help but I like how it turned out so far.

Now I have to add the rest of the leg armour and then start picking out the lenses and stuff. So more pictures to come.

Newtype, big props to you sir. Now I know that I can basically hang a Dreadnought front plate onto the Dreadknight and make it work :D Looks awesome man, keep those pictures coming!

I first have to thank the fellow brother who came up with the metalic marine idea by using a coloured glaze/wash over silver. YOU ARE A GENIUS SIR!! THANK YOU!! :) ;)

Here is what he looks like now:

Blue over a chainmail base and I will add the red to the Dreadnought shoulder armour and sword arm guard. Untill the next update.

Well some more progress made. I decided to use the blue glaze over the entire figure, as the red did not turn out vary well. Looked more pinkish over the silver. Anyway here he is in all his power and glory:

Now I have the base to work on.

Good day all.

I have added the first layer of sand and gravel to the base and modelled the Tau Gun/Comm unit to look like it was sliced off with the sword. I didn't have any Chaos bits , so went with this instead.

Anyway for your C&C:

And

More sand to cover up the bare spots and then paint.
