Damn it

Why do I always notice the introductions section after I start posting?

Anyway, hi I'm Ventris (not the actual guy, I'm not badass enough to be a Ultramarine yet), I collect just about everything in one way or another but my Space Marines and Chaos Space Marines are my babies.

Been on plenty of forums and after a year of lurking I though I might as well join, and eventually get round to posting my marines up if I can be bothered to get a decent camera and more paint. I have a lot of un-painted marines. A lot. Well actually I have a lot of unpainted models, none of mine are really painted because I can't decide on a consitant colour scheme to start painting them with.

Anyway, ignore the slight ramble.

Regards,

Ventris.

Thanks.

And by unpainted I have about a companies worth for SM, a half company for another SM, the same for my CSM, loads of IG, and a few bits of everything else and nothing is painted. Just undercoated.

I will get round to doing it, proberly when I'm 50...

Welcome to the B&C.

Some quick advice: if you can't decide upon a single colour scheme to follow then just do a different one for each model and come up with a fluff reason for them all to be together, for example they're all renegades.

One thing I might want to warn you about, not a lot of Ultramarines players seem to like Uriel Ventris, so just be prepared for that.

I've had worse, I was on the DoW2 forums under the same name. So much hate in once place was un believable.

Don't worry. We're pretty much the only nice Forum around. We won't kill you. Probably make a thousand and one jokes about it, but we wouldn't kill you. :P

As a side note, have you tried using a large drybrush to, well, dry-brush your models? I've had the afore mentioned Skaven sitting in a drawer for months without paint, but yesterday I got them out, base coated them in brown, then dry-brushed them from Dheneb Stone up to skull white. The detail is good, and with a few details like eyes and teeth they're done.

Drybrushing just makes anything awesome. ;)

I've never gotten far enough to dry-brush.

My SM have swapped colour schemes at least ten times, and have spent more time without colours than with.

I'm now thinking about doing them as the Sons of Antaeus, but with Hanger-8's colour scheme in them for retribution (Dark Grey main body, black back pack, and black from the knees down).
