New Chapter Themes

Ok I'm just starting to play Warhammer and I want my own Chapter, so I've been trying to create and post a few DIY ideas for a chapter, but none have worked so far and I've tried two: I wanted to make one called the Grey Knights, and figured out that it was already taken, then tried Dark Templars which had no theme and ended up being renegade, then I couldn't think of anything else. I'm stumped. Can anyone give me a few themes or ideas to work off of? Loyalist, Latest Founding, colors are black, grey, and white, any non-mutated geneseed, are some conditions, but I only need a theme (quirk). Thanks for the ideas!

My tip to give you would be to look through this list of Chapters (that are official) and get an idea for it.

Going renegade can be two things: 1. They have devoted themselves to Chaos and attack the Imperium, or 2. They are still devoted to the Imperium but are hated/chased by Imperial forces.

 

I myself went through a ton of ideas I had in my head in making my chapter, the Vermilion Wings. For my chapter, I used the Chapter-generating tables from the Deathwatch roleplaying game book "Rites of Battle". It makes things a ton easier so if you can get your hands on that, it would greatly help.

 

Also, I believe a mod should move this to the Liber Astartes.

Cool, thanks. Haven't got my hands on any literature information (Guides, stories, etc.) yet, but I've been looking at some of the official and DIY chapters on here.

So what about names? Here's a few htat are (actually) available and that match, any votes?!

Dark Templars.

Black Wolves.

Imperial Crusaders.

Any other ideas would be nice for coming up with a name htat matches the Chapter; Trying to get a darker themed name, tending towards concepts like the Ultramarines.

You could use the Chapter name creator here on B&C. For Theme "Quirk" let you mind wonder and see where it takes you. My Chapter's quirk is they have such a hate for Nids that they actually use parts of them to help fight them better i.e. Tyranid exoeskeletons as extra armor slashing clwas as knives. I even have a Tyranid Skull as a fimilar Cyber-skull.

Cool ideas. I love the name and I'm gonna use it, it fits with my 'idea': I used the hatred of Nexus' idea but modified it: The CHapter was involved in the battle against Behemoth, who destroyed their homeworld located in the Eastern Fringe, 'south' of Macragge and Calth. The Chapter protected nearby planets from attack while the war raged on, closing on Macragge. During that battle, the Chapter also had a large attack on their temporary HQ planet. After the war, they were reduced nearly to a quarter of thir original forces, so they had to recover. The remaining mariens became the 1st Company, and trained recruits to fill the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Companies, while the 10th included the recruits being trained and the rest had survived the war. They now patrol the space to the 'East' liberating planets from hte Tyranids and protecting those remaining or under threat of infestation. That's as far as I've gotten, I still need to fill in hte lost time between the end of the war and current day, I might use some other Tyranic wars if any are available. Sorry about any typos, they happen when you're short on time.

 

Gonna redo some stuff and try to find more info on some missing details. Trying to write it shorter and fill in gaps, as well as refine the Theme a little more.
