Brother Turok
Competative? I think so. I played my first 40k game in nine months the other day using deamons for the first time. I used: Thirster Skulltaker on jugg + 2 juggs squad horrors squad letters x2 squad deamonettes demon prince x2 soul grinder seekers Just threw it together in 10 mins, played a known skilled power gamer that I have only ever beat 5 times in the past 6 years (He was playing blood angels btw). BEAT HIM So yea, they are good. Experiment with what you have. Know what the units are good at and play the table right. I've heard that this is good: 2 thirsters squad juggs squad horrors x 2 or 3 squad letters x2 tzneetch prince w bolt x2 Haven't tried it yet however... also haven't checked point costs. Zid
Yes, they can be. But you need to design your lists with specific purposes in mind and specific units for the most part; some units in the dex REALLY suck, others are REALLY awesome Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/237569-daemons-competitive/#findComment-2865561 Share on other sites
Brother Ambroz
Best thing to do is just get out there and play a few games and read up on sample army lists I'd say. Personally I love almost all of the khornate units, especially the thirsters and crushers. Horrors are also very fun to play with. DarkGuard
One of my friends has recently started Daemons as a challenge, to try and get them tow work. I think he's played about 5 or 6 and won most of the them, against a variety of armies. I'll try and get the list off him and let you know what he uses, although I know he uses Bloodletters, Bloodcrushers, and Daemon Princes, the latter being Tzeentchian with Bolt of Change. I believe his preferred first wave are the Bloodcrushers and Daemon Princes, basically the more survivable stuff to soak up firepower and wait for the Bloodletters, while the DPs take out tanks, but I'll double check with him. Considering he's a highly competitive gamer naturally he's quite pleased with the results he's been getting.
