Legato
So, I plan on getting together the Mighty Malleus Draigo Rangers for a bit of fun, but before I drop the dosh on them, I'm trying to establish a good painting method. Step 1: Priming This is the obvious first step as far as painting goes, and here's the plan. I'm going to use the dual direction priming method, spraying from the bottom upward with TAP Matte Black, and spraying from the top/sides downward with TAP Plate Mail Metal. If anyone has experience with Plate Mail Metal, please share your opinion. Step 2: Basic Detailing For picking out the sculpted details, I plan on using VMC Hull Red on the exteriors of the cloth and (parts of) heraldry, VMC Flat White and Black for the other heraldry parts, VMC Old Gold for the inscriptions, and VMC Electric Blue for the eyes. Step 3: Further Detailing I plan to either dry/overbrush or wet blend (which would you recommend?) VMC Carmine Red on the cloth, and I'll likely also use it to edge highlight heraldry plates. The black heraldry will be edge highlighted with VMC Neutral Gray, and I'm considering doing the same to the White (should I?). I'll overbrush/edge highlight the Old Gold with Polished Gold, and I might wash it before or after that with an undetermined color. The eyes will be given some OSL with VMC Magic Blue. Step 4: ??? Step 5: Profit! Does this seem like a solid plan to go in with? Do any of the colors I plan on using give you trouble?
