Champion Cliesthenes
I am interested in this box for my SM army but am not sure what I get in it. Do i get what is shown on the cover? Or do i get enough heads for a full helmeted and robed or atleast helmeted heads with weaponry and such? If you've gotten this box please lemme know and tell me what you think. I don't want any bare heads because i can't paint skin lol. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/237774-whats-in-the-da-veteran-box/ Share on other sites
Droma
The box isn't as good as it used to be but is still pretty solid. The current box gets you 5 robed marines including bodies/heads/bolters. 12 shoulder pad options including 1 dw pad, 6-7 backpacks, 2 back banners, 7-8 heads, power fist, power sword, power mace, combat shield, terminator assault cannon, terminator legs, terminator power sword, terminator storm shield, and tons of other little DA bits for customizing models. This all comes on 2 sprues. The reason I said this isn't as good as it used to be is because in the old version you got 4 sprues total so double the amount and all for less than the cost of a tactical marine box. The only thing missing were bases. GW finally figured it out though when guys like me were placing orders for 3+ vet boxes at a time. I've now got 30 robed marines and a ton of bits. rpnightsend
i like the box a lot. i used the termie bits to make my counts-as-belial and i made some nice looking veterans. its definitely worth it Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/237774-whats-in-the-da-veteran-box/#findComment-2867090 Share on other sites
Hemal
Look at it this way - I have bought 20 (yes 20) of those frames - though have only assembled a couple of marines from them... Brother Kovash
If you need the special weapons as well (flamer, meltagun, plasma gun) then get the veteran box, since it comes with an accessory sprue along with the chapter upgrade sprue. If you only want the extra chapter bits, then get the DA chapter upgrade. Azrael Turnbull
By using the backpacks, heads and boltguns on normal marines, and using normal backpacks and guns on robed marines, you can combine a box of Tactical Marines and Dark Angels Veterans to create 15 Dark Angels. Problem solved, unless you're one of those players who wants every marine in a robe.
