mastrchief33
Basically what the description says. I plan to run this list... rune priest - living lightning, storm caller 100 grey hunters - 6men, meltagun, power weapon, mark of the wulfen, wolf standard 135 rhino - 35 grey hunters - 7men, meltagun, power weapon, mark of the wulfen, wolf standard 150 rhino - 35 grey hunters - 7men, meltagun, power weapon, mark of the wulfen, wolf standard 150 rhino - 35 grey hunters - 7men, meltagun, power weapon, mark of the wulfen, wolf standard 150 rhino - 35 wolf guard - 4men, combi-melta & power fist ea. 172 dreadnought - plasma cannon, dccw w. heavy flamer 125 dreadnought - plasma cannon, dccw w. heavy flamer 125 land speeder squadron - 2 w. heavy bolter & typhoon missile launcher 180 land speeder - multi-melta, heavy flamer 70 land speeder - multi-melta, heavy flamer 70 long fangs - 6men, 5 missile launchers 140 razorback - lascannon & twin-linked plasma guns 75 long fangs - 6men, 5 missile launchers 140 razorback - lascannon & twin-linked plasma guns 75 ...and I have the PC dreads in ATM. I'm wondering if it would be better with Rifleman instead? More accurate fire, more shots and greater range, but at the expense of two decent support close combat units, and the ability to ward units away from mid field due to AP2 blast fire. What do you think? Does the PC dread or Rifleman dread fit this list (and mechanized space wolf lists in general), better? Gen. Confusion
I think you should keep the plasma cannons. You have enough long range AT that you don't need the autocannons. Also those dreads and their CCW's will make great counter attack/ intercept units for your long fangs. Or you could advance the dreads behind your rhinos and provide support for your grey hunters. A dread hides well behind a rhino while delivering a high strength low AP blast into enemy units that have been blown out of their transports by long fangs. Actually; the more I look at your list the more I like it! :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/237869-dreadnoughts-in-a-mechanized-list/#findComment-2868678 Share on other sites
Karack Blackstone
So long as your Dreads have the fire support to stay up or you're willing to deal with losing one, there's not much other reason to change up your list. As a major fan of Dreads, I'd recommend keeping them as is; you have more than enough long range fire support elsewhere in your list. You're going to need some anti-termy loving on your end, and with the twin PC's you have it. Those DCCW are a nice support for the PC's, too. How many points is this? Looks to be 1750 or 1850 total. Actually, it's 2000 total. Rather well made list.
