Hello :)

This is a topic with 2 purposes: 1) to inform the B&C community on my DIY chapter's progress and 2) to try and get me to actually do some work on my Space Marines.

Bearing this in mind i thought it would be a good idea to show you what stage in my army I'm upto, so here goes :D

Is that castle suggesting that their fluff is based on the Templars?

No, their fluff is based on my fantasy dwarf army, hence the large number of axes and dwarf pistols the more keen-eyed of you may have spotted.

Upon reading this, many of you may look a bit like this; :D so let me explain some basics;

A mass ork waagh! attacked an outlying dwarf settelment of Naz Nak, however just before this a small expeditionary mining force had stumbled upon and through an eldar webway portal and came back with small amounts of very precious and shiny metals.

As the expeditionary force returned to the council they found the settelment in a state of war, and the orks gradually taking ground, all-be-it at a very high cost. As more of the settelment was lost the council was gradually persuaded to move the citizensthrough the portal along with all the treasure they could carry. The orks however had hedelessly followed the dwarves through the portal and were coming through in great tides. The original expeditionary party were stood just inside the portal and knew they would not survive, so called back the inevitable order to the organ-gun and cannon crews waiting just beyond the gateway to collapse it with them still inside. These brave expeditioranries were also sucked into the warp, becoming the new Ancestor Gods of the Naz Nak Dwarves, whom they believed would oneday return to the new world in a time of great crisis to lead their people from the edge of destruction once again.

Hope you like this bit of fluff, all C&C once again welcome on both posts so far, and any future ones.

Hoping to make a progress report during the coming week, and maybe some more fluff...

First thanks to everyone reading commenting and following this WIP :)

second I know I said a week :) however i may have got slightly distracted with things... yes, ok mainly my fantasy dwarves... anyway, the point is there has been little progress done. I have put a first coat on my assault marines and at gamesday today i bought the boarding space marine captain in mark III armour. so in the hopefully VERY near future i should have first picks of both of these projects B)

third

Marine squats!!!! ZOMG

Anyway, looks like a lot of work ahead of you.

In a way they are squats, HOWEVER, they are not based on squats, squats are based on dwarfs. I didn't even know about squats when i first started my backstory. Normally

fourth) and on that note... what i do have is more fluff!!!

For many centuries The Pathfinder and his cohort roamed the plains of the realm of chaos. Slowly they fell, one by one, some to Demons, some to illness, fate, or injury, and one weak soul to corruption. Then, when only He and His closest companions remained they were thrown back into the real world, in a massive throne room in some unknown city, with a vast crowd of dwarves all around them.

Thats all for now, more fluff to follow. All C&C welcome on all aspects

Hi folks, quick update for ya

I have bought the Ravenwing Battleforce and intend on using it for my 6th company - as i am using non-codex organisation this is my mounted company of engineers. The command squad and Captain will be cloaked in the traditional manner of the mechanicum, with the hooded mechanicum shoulder pads from the ravenwing frames. These will be mounted on some fairly traditional Ravenwing Bikeage not sure about they're decorations. Now my struggle is with my basic troops, these will also be mounted but i don't know whether to give them ravenwing style bikes like the command squad or to give them regular bikes and I want YOUR help in decision.

Hope to post some more background and some 'taced pics tomorrow.

I am finding DarkHazz13's photography advice from the Tutorials section helpful for my own DIY thread, so I thought I would share the link with you. Your background and lighting look OK, but the distance, angle, and timing of the pictures make it hard to see the models well enough to provide constructive critique.

Hey guys!

Firstly, I know I said tomorrow, but, in an alternate reality this is tomorrow right?

Anyway, secondly, thanks; Justicar Cirekon - I think that was a compliment :P . -Max- - thanks for the link it is a very good and clear set of instructions, I recomend it to EVERYONE.

Thirdly, Fenrisian-Wolf : thanks for the compliment :) the marine in question, I believe, is the one falling backwards. He has not been in the company of Space Wolves, being a Dwarf he will have had ale recently, but the reason I had in mind was that he is the new recruit to the assault squad. His lack of balance is more to do with a lack of experience rather than an excess of alcohol. Although now you've brought that issue to my attention there could well be a theme in a squad of the future - you'll have to wait and see.

Fourth, the reason for my lack of posting recently...

From the cloud of dust the guardsmen heard a huge crackling thump, this was followed by a roar of pain and a roar of fury. Suddenly the Warboss they had been fighting off for the last month exploded out of the dust, surrounded by the stone of a building they assumed once stood on the other side of the dust. Awestruck, they stood gaping. then with a thud, thud, thud of heavy boots, a figure emerged from the dust. Red Power Armour, topped by a bright orange plume, carrying a still glowing hammer in his right hand and a red and gold sheild in his left. Scattered about the armour were dozens of purity seals. As one the Grib Guardsmen fell to their knees. 'My Lord' stammered the sargeant, 'what can we...'

'Peace Guardsman. I am Tupikni Evergrudge, King of the Late Jewel Peak, Lord of the Grudge Fleet, Chief Advisor on Enclosed Fighting to the High King, Marine of Naz Nak. Know this, that the Warboss is dead, but the city is not yet saved. Take heart in his death, for if he falls to us, whom may stand? Onwards, Guardsmen. Onwards to victory and peace. For the Axe!!!'

And with that he left them, still kneeling, overwhelmed with awe.

...I will try to post pictures of this Marine as soon as possible.

All C&C wanted and welcome.

Hello!

First and foremost, appologies; I've been fairly busy of late, so despite 1 or 2 games not much has happened concerning my marines and, hence no posts. I have dragged myself away from my desk now tho as in the last 5 days I have been quite busy building and painting.

Secondly, an update vis-a-vis my models; for Christmas I was delighted to recieve both a spacemarine battleforce and a devastator squad, amongst other non-40k things. So far I have built the drop pod and started on my landspeeder storm. Pictures of both these objects are further down the post.

Thirdly, the model mentioned in my last post, almost complete - I need to do a few touchups and paint the fabric of his purity seals;

http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i374/Pathfinder-Jontay/Photo0223.jpg

He is called 'Tupikni Evergrudge, King of the Late Jewel Peak, Lord of the Grudge Fleet, Chief Advisor on Enclosed Fighting to the High King, Marine of Naz Nak'. He is Captain of my 7th Company - 'The Vengeful Survivors'. Originally From the city of Jewel Peak, in its time the richest, most stunning and most cultured of all the cities of Naz Nak, the 7th company took voluntary exile to their immense space-fleet, 'The Grudge Fleet', when the mountain within which their city was built was destroyed by an unknown orbital strike, early in M40. Since then they have become masters of close-quarters combat, both on firm ground, under it or in space. Now their company numbers almost 400 marines, 1000 recruits, and close to 1,000,000 pilots engineers and other non-power armoured support Dwarves.

Fourthly the rest of my recent progress (sorry about the image quality, still using my terrible phone camera :( ) ;

http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i374/Pathfinder-Jontay/Photo0225.jpg

My Bikers of the 4th company - Karak Tanrek - 'Mounted Doom' - they are just getting their first coats.

http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i374/Pathfinder-Jontay/Photo0222.jpg

http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i374/Pathfinder-Jontay/Photo0221.jpg

My 3rd company Landraider, transport for Nak Grudgebearer Grudgerighter and his terminator squad, currently adding details on 1st coat.

http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i374/Pathfinder-Jontay/Photo0224.jpg

My Drop pod. Fully built but in two pieces to allow ease of painting.

http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i374/Pathfinder-Jontay/Photo0220.jpg

And finally my Landspeeder storm. Partially Built.

And that concludes this update, all comments and criticisms wanted and welcome :P
