Need help design a feline helmet

Hello guys.

 

As my avatar (and sig) might suggest, I'm a Celestial Lions player. Now I've been thinking about designing a more feline helmet for my Honor Guard. I don't want the helmet to be too 'obvious' like the Wolf helmet on the Space Wolves sprue, I want it done subtlely. Elongated muzzle, perhaps a raise brow, AND DEFINITELY NO WHISKERS! I just want to tap into the creative genius that is the B&C PCA collective and ask you guys if you can think along with me, posting anything you come up with.

 

I really hope my request makes sense and produces a few good ideas.

So, I actually suggest using the Power Rangers as a model. No, really! The original Yellow Ranger's helm in particular (replacing the humanized mouth with a SM-like grill) would be my first go-to prototype.

Going with this I think their was another Power Rangers that had the enemy as a Lion and his helm design would be a good start I think it was a newer Power Rangers. I think it was Jungle Fury but whatever.

You could also use the lionhelmet that comes with the Empire General. Either use it as it is, or cut the lower portion with the face off, add the lower jaw of the lion or one of those scouts rebreathers or some such and the sensor on top to complete the SM helmet.

Yeah, I was going to suggest this. Otherwise, you could decapitate a really small cat and use that.

No most of those suggestions are too clearly. I like the idea of the Scibor helmets, something like that, there's just not one helmet amongst them that appeals to me. But the idea is there, something like those Scibors, but still recognisable as a SM helm. Basically a redesign of the generic SM helm, but leaning more towards something feline.

Perhaps adding downward facing daggers or teeth to the front of the sm helm and small triangular studs to the top right and top left rear parts of the helmet as the ears? Maybe make sure you paint the eyes with a more catlike iris? Something very () shaped. More than anything I think the paint job will be important to pull this off.

scibor would be yould best bet to use since there al ready made to resemble a SM helm

I own those Scibor helms, and unless you go true scale, they'll be too big. My suggestion would be to use a GK helm as a base, trim the vent from the top and add two more smaller triangular ones, one to each side of the helm.

Maybe adding a crest from the Bretonnian Knights sprue, or else using a Terminator helmet suitably pared down as this is already slightly leonine. Other alternatives include the White Lions stone statue from teh WHite Lions boxed set as a helmet proxy, especially on a suit of termie armour...
