Iron-Daemon Forge
Hi everone With the release of the Space Marine game due out in the next few days (for us in the UK anyway). I can not wait to sit down & start play the game on my PS3. But while watch the clip on youtube. There a few thing I like in the new computer game from what I seen so far. As such I painted up some Ultramarines. From what I seen of the computer game I like the battle damnge armour or the armour cover in the ork blood. It nice that the Space marines do not hace clean armour just arrive from Mars. Like wise from what I seen of the multi player custom mod, I like that your able to pick diffrent style of armour which for a hobby machine like my self great for conversion & painting ideas, in fact if I collect a Ultramarine force thank to this game & also my Mk6 Iron Warriors force (6th version in term of collecting), it will play a very big part when it come to converting the models. I also painted my Ultramarines in the 4th Company as I like Graham McNeill novels. If this army gose ahead, the 4th Company will be theme around the novel Chapter's Due. http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee412/JFmodel/Ultra/DSC09941.jpg Hope it show the Tactical squad mark is ment to be chip/starting to get strip off from the battle/war. Useing the stripple, check White Dwarf 374 (UK) where Nick Bayton & Duncan paint up the Blood Angels battleforce. http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee412/JFmodel/Ultra/DSC09942.jpg http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee412/JFmodel/Ultra/DSC09943.jpg http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee412/JFmodel/Ultra/DSC09944.jpg http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee412/JFmodel/Ultra/DSC09945.jpg http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee412/JFmodel/Ultra/DSC09946.jpg http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee412/JFmodel/Ultra/DSC09947.jpg http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee412/JFmodel/Ultra/DSC09948.jpg After this post I'm going to try finish off these models. As you notice I went for a dark tone of Blue. I just like darker armour, for those who have seen my Space Wolves or Iron Warriors. Hate bright colours as my main colour, only use bright colour for highlighting to help add contrast. So see where it gose from here & if I can make a 1500pts army list I like & theme on the novel Chapter Due. Also how the Space Marine game gose, got the collector ed pre-order for my PS3, pick that up on Fri :D IP Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/237980-ultramarines/ Share on other sites

No Foes Remain
For reasons that I'm sure that fans of the Ultramarines series will under stand, I couldn't look at these awsome Ultras without posting. The pre-mentioned white aquilla makes them stand out, as well as the tone of the blue and the sliver parts on the back packs. I'm definetly going to be watching this. /Ventris. KingDeath
Nice blue, the highlighting is perhaps a tad strong but otherwise i love them. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/237980-ultramarines/#findComment-2869876 Share on other sites
DarkVen
Very accurate highlightings. And work overall. But armor is damaged so... like it got a hit with megabolter "Vulcan"'s shell, no less :( and a skull on a chest plate of the second (from right) isn't painted. Very nice, no doubt :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/237980-ultramarines/#findComment-2869933 Share on other sites

Iron-Daemon Forge
Thanks for the comments and a skull on a chest plate of the second (from right) isn't painted. Was still WIP ;) The photo where the stage my Ultramarine where that when I painted them in my local GW today. After the post the photos, the skull has been painted ;) I've paint the Marine with a gold skull. If the Ultramarine army gose ahead, I want to try use the honour markings that in the current (as well as 2nd ed) codex Space Marines, be nice sub theme for some memeber of the diffrent units for the act they do on the gaming table. Might also sub theme the models, so the markmen try do some cool custom Bolter for exsample that only unique to himself. KingDeath Posted Today, 07:28 PM Nice blue, the highlighting is perhaps a tad strong but otherwise i love them. Got go strong highlight on dark armies :P With my Space Wolves there a very dark Grey Armour & the strong highlight help draw attesion to the army along with the blue viking rune I have which act as a spot colour. Also notice George Dellapina (use to work for Games Workshop Nottingham) dose a lot of strong highlight on his own models ;) As seen here you notice them right away ;) Just from the experince I had with say my Blood Angels, strong highlight help with the contrast. But my BA space hulk models did not have such a strong highlight, when taken photos would be pretty much killed/not show up. As said with the SW during the tournament just help draw that bit of attesion to a dark army. Real life the models look diffrent from the photos (maybe camera I use?). Try get some photos that my local GW see how they turn out :D love the battle damage, you have guaged it perfectly, Thanks. Use the standard small GW drill bit. Then use a No10 scelpel blade. Try gut ^, >, V shape & then twist the blade around in O shape. damaged so... like it got a hit with megabolter "Vulcan"'s shell, no less ;) Space Marines are hardcore. In Space Marine computer game they need no cover!! Fight like true warriors :D IP Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/237980-ultramarines/#findComment-2869995 Share on other sites

Iron-Daemon Forge
Nice work man, didnt know you were a loyalist at heart  Your getting SM for Ps3? i'll need to get your tag and finally meet you on the battlefield. Hi Crusader of Dorn, been agies since heard from yourself. Iron Warriors, Space Wolves & Black Templars will alway been my main armies. Just other armies I collect have diffrent challenge from model/painting aspect of the hobby or the gaming side of it. For the Ultramaries, I just wanted to try battle damnge (as said models still WIP :D ). While my Blood Angels was to try painting yellow & to try water effect on the base. Guard army to use my NQ to HND model making skills from college for exsample. Ever army offer somthing diffrent to try out in all aspect of our hobby. But main armies alway be Iron Warriors, Space Wolves & Black Templars. About to start a new Iron Warriors force soon to mark 10 year of collecting & to move form the old inks to the currnet wash so I can keep painting. Like wise GW brought a lot of brillaint new kits out which make converting better than ever before. Yes I'll be getting the collecter ed of Space Marine for the PS3. Sadily I do not have online access with my PS3. Also I need to watch it when play computer games. Can get bad headace, ok to be on for a hour.
