Potentially stupid question...

Hey,

I used to paint and play years ago but am really bored at the moment and for a while I've been thinking about getting back into the modelling and painting side of things as I need a hobby!

I'm thinking up a new chapter of space marines as I've seen some awesome stuff on here I wanna try and copy! I've started by thinking about my commander and have a question...

how much bigger are terminator shoulder pads then normal marine ones and would they look ridiculous on a normal marine sized commander? i really wanna use the lion head terminator pad from forgeworld but not so keen on having the whole model as a terminator. you guys reckon this could work?

I think that the terminator shoulderpads are actually attached to the arms/hands/fists. I know that Forge World sells the shoulderpads separately. I don't know, but I only have one terminator arm. I could be wrong. It doesn't look too out of place on a standard marine model.

Only on the AoBR Termies.

I think they are a bit large for Marines (I have done a couple minis that I used them on and it looks a bit odd), but they could work if you trim it down a bit. Or you could do an army of true-scale Marines.

OK so I've been thinking..I'll make him a terminator commander..

So my next question is would a normal space marine helmet fit into the terminator body? I have an awesome head idea but want to know if it will work!

Yes, almost all PA heads are TDA compatible but not vice-versa. IOW you can put a regular marine's head on a termie but not a termie's head on a regular marine, usually.
