Brother Valerius
Is it just me, or is there no way to control whether you are on the loyalist or Chaos team in multiplayer? I've been able to put in a bit of time today, and while it's reasonably enjoyable... that really kills a lot of joy for me. I don't want to play as Chaos, ever. I would rather wait in a lobby for a spot to open up than play as Chaos. Short of quitting until I find a game that puts me on the appropriate side (which isn't really great etiquette), I can't see a way... and that is remarkably aggravating to me. RunningWolfFenris
I'm the same way. I have very little to no interest in being Chaos. I wish the was a SM or CSM only preference to make it so the time spent on armor customization pays off!! Lion Fire
I hear you. I've been stuck on Chaos probably 15 time and I was on Emperium maybe 3 times. When you are in a private game you can of course pick. If you guys are on xbox live my gamertag is lionfiretx I've been playing on there with some people from B&C. Martyn
Oh no, I was putting all my faith into the multiplayer part of the game. :P I would hate being a traitor, how many times do I have to repent afterwards? thade
It's random. Both of the MP modes are team-based and always chaos vs loyalist (it would make sense no other way). Thus, you can (and should!) set up preferred armor customizations for both allegiances as you might get thrown into either depending on how the teams are balanced out. This can change between matches too, whether you change teams or not! Â So, my loyalist armor schemes are all from my DIY (except for one Storm Wardens set, for lolz). And my Chaos armor sets are all factions that I'm either familiar with (because friends play them) or that I might like to run if I ever actually got the gumption up to paint an entirely new marine force. So, Nightlords, Thousand Sons, Death Guard, and World Eaters. thade
Don't let this put you off! You get to see your own army colors plenty often enough, I swear! It's nice to change things up a bit; variety and all. <_< I spent a LOT of time in local clubs purging heretics and declaring death to renegades. Interesting spin on things to see what this "Blood for the Blood God" thing is all about now and again. Godspear
I agree with Thade. I'm on either as a Black Templar or a World Eater, and both sides allow you to customize your own personal Loyalist or Heretic. It's not that big a deal. Valtonis
it pisses me off because i am trying to unlock stuff for the Loyalist and being on a Chaos team just feels like a waste of my time and effort Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/238081-space-marine-choosing-teams/#findComment-2871956 Share on other sites
Quixus
Depending on what you try to unlock, playing loyalists may work as well. The battered armor (loyalist) for example does not care whether you die loyalist or traitor. Most of the challenges don't care. Chapter Master Ignis Domus
Of course, you do get chaos armor when playing loyalists for some reason. Crusader of Dorn
Well its down to team balancing, i expect there would be alot more moaning if your ended up in games 2 vs 6 and you were getting pumelled. Be grateful that you get to play as your DIY chapter at all. Think of how the other 40k non PA fans must feel. Â Private matches are the way to go i think, not sure if you can unlock anything playing them though. Chapter Master Ignis Domus
You can definitely unlockk stuff in private matches. I got up to level 7 and got a whole bunch of armor when playing a private match with some other B&Cers yesterday. Mr.Millar
Personally, I'll just try to make the least spikey/mutated looking possible chaos marine and just use the same colour scheme as the loyalist skin. I don't know how well this will work though as I haven't even played the game yet, damn you Blockbuster.
