Dusty effect from varnish spray.

Had that happen to my IG when I sprayed them. Was told that it was because the can had been kept outside (in the garage) and the temperature had exceeded the manufacturers recomended temp, which tends to happen during the summers here in nw Arizona (temps often exceed 120 degrees (f) from May through October.) Was also told the only thing I could do to fix them was to strip the paint off of them with simple green and to repaint them :) Since I had just sprayed about 40 models with it, I said screw it and did what I could to make them look dusty/dirty and rebased them with a desert looking base...

One thing I did do that seemed to cut the look down was take a brush and some water and then brush the whole model (not the bases) with a wet brush. I noticed it had toned it down somewhat after brush each model 3 times, letting it dry between each brushing. Not sure if you'll get the same results or not. Good thing (if you can call it that) is that it sounds like you only had it happen to 1 model, so if you do decide to strip the paint off him and start over its not as bad as the 40 model prospect I was faced with. But I would definitely be sure to throw the can away so you don't use it again by mistake.

Good luck and I hope the water method helps at least somewhat....
