Psyrifleman Dreadnought Arms...

I've been told that you can acquire them via:

http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/...odId=prod20006a

(Aegis Defence Line set, that comes with a "quad gun" that would fit nicely onto a dreadnought as an autocannon)

However, as you can see, it's quite pricey, so I was wondering if anyone had a more "$-efficient" method of producing Psyrifle Dreads- whether it be an actual autocannon from another GW line/product, OR if it is a conversion job.. e.g. I know someone who did a decent job with filing down lascannons.

Many thanks in advance,

Its either that or Forgeworld but they don't match and are consistently out of stock.

FW does have two matching ones. They have a mk V for left and right, and a mk IV for only one side (I think it's the right?). I have two of each mk V arm from them myself.

I used the aegis defense line, and we use the barricades for terrain :D considering that if you buy them from forge world you are paying about the same amount of money...

True about the money factor, but I personally think the FW ones look a whole lot better than the aegis conversions that I've seen. I also know that they're better than any conversion I could attempt myself. Worth it to me.

Besides the options already mentioned, buy some autocannons from other armies and slap two together and attach to the dreadnought somehow. Then do the same thing on the other side. There are tutorials on this out there in the tubes of the internets, but I don't know of any offhand. Five minutes of Google searching and you should be all set....

take a look at this tutorial i made up along with the finished product:

I like the aegis line guns, while it doesn't suit the dread so much, I like it for the way it resembles the rifleman mech that it is named after.

The ones from puppetwars.eu look good too, I'm waiting to see if forge world release an autocannon arm for the contemptor :)

hey guys, sorry to bump and revive an old topic, but I've bought a 2nd hand Dreadnought, and it only came with a fist, missile laucher, auto-cannon, and lascannon arm. =(

So as the original topic states, I need the most economical way of obtaining 4 autocannon arms that can be fitted on the dreads. The Aegis Defence line is out of the question... I mean, $88-ish ?? No thanks! lol.

Thanks for the all the replies, I have sent emails to various bits websites, including forgeworld, but I was just wondering if there was any1 here that would like to get rid of some autocannons, because I'll gladly take them (pay you of course, lol) off you.

Thanks in advance,

N.B. any conversion/custom jobs that are $ effecient are preferable, so please share/link if you can. Thank you once again

SO are you making 3-4 dreads, because each Aegis set is good for one dread, so that is $25ish per dread. That said I made mine out of IG autocannon sponsons I bought off of ebay. You can get them for about $12 per dread, but the issue is finding enough of them. I.e. Autocannons are very popular and thus rare. I bought mine long before GKs were released, at which point they were plenteful and cheaper.
The best option, if you're only doing one dreadnought, in my opinion is still the Forgeworld ones. However, if you're going for 2-3 dreads those arm prices can stack up FAST. At that point it would be more prudent to bitz and go Frankenstein on said bitz.
The Forgeworld dread arms are £7.50 each, the Puppetswar ones are 14 Euros the pair, which at current rate is £12, and the Aegis Defense Line is £12.40 from Wayland. So unless you're up for some scavenging from other kits I think you have to accept that your dread's are going to be expensive models until such time as GW decide to actually release a model with all the weapon options available.
