DoW II+Chaos Rising not working

I recently purchased Chaos Rising (again...my friend lost my original disk) so I could finish the campaign before I get stuck into Retribution and so I can play my lvl 10 Captain in last stand rather than start again. Problem is that neither the vanilla DoW II or Chaos Rising starts. Instead I get a message that it crashed and have the option of sending an error report. Does anybody know how to remedy this? Retribution works fine, but I want to play Chaos Rising.

I get a crash report with the Relic logo on it. When I click "Show details" it says it will send some files to Relic.

Sent the error report and was directed to a page that said this:

Crash Report #1455794

A recent Games for Windows LIVE update requires the Windows Live Sign-in Assistant to be properly installed and running on your machine. Please ensure your Windows Updates are up to date. If you are still having issues, this is likely an error with the installation of Game for Windows LIVE. Please download and reinstall the redist from: www.gamesforwindows.com

I tried installing the sign in assisstant and it just stops half way and says try again later.

Have you tried to reinstall the client from www.gamesforwindows.com?

Is your Windows Updates Turned ON or OFF?

Also, try and visit http://community.dawnofwar2.com/ and have a look around there in the stickied topics (I can't myself as it is blocked here at work)

I know other players have had the same issue as you so there is a chance that they've posted there.

My problem is that I need the Sign-In Assistant...problem is I cannot install it because it just ends and quits. I am running XP (and will not be getting an upgrade to 7 anytime this year or next year due to budget issues). I fear that my issue may be unfixable :)
