Dosjetka
Hi all, As I may be painting white on my Space Marines, I would like to know which base coat I should put down to then be able to build up white over a black undercoat. Should I go with Astronomican Grey or Charadon Granite? Here is the colour scheme I may be doing. http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/mediawiki/images/a/ae/Death_Eagles_early_90s.jpg http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/mediawiki/images/e/eb/Death_Eagles_Marines_3.jpg Cheers, Ludovic Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/238463-painting-white-alongside-light-purple/ Share on other sites
winterdyne
I'd probably go over a light primer for those, it'll make the white a lot less painful as there's quite a bit of it. Block in the purple with a dark red (Scab red with a blue wash maybe) and the metallic and joins with black. You can then highlight up to white, shading down with thin fortress/codex grey mix. The purple, I'd highlight by adding a light blue to the dark red, maybe spacwolf grey - it's actually pretty pinkish/crimson in those pics. If you're intent on e black undercoat, the only way to get a nice white is to build it up through greys - codex, and fortress.
