Who would win in a fight?

Hi guys, I'm a long time lurker, first time poster. Thought I may as well start with the thread idea that lead me to sign up.

Who do you think would win in a fight between certain 30K era Legions, Primarchs and specific Astartes? Answer and add your own.

First for me is:

World Eaters vs Space Wolves

and

Angron vs Leman Russ

Go!

I'd say whatever side Russ was on would be your best bet. He's one scary Primarch.

He might be scary but seriously? Against Angron? The only primarchs that may have been his equal were Horus and Sanguinus.

These topics never end well by the way, each one's fanboys will fight to the death about which side is more bad :D .

How about Legion vs Legion in the Great Crusade era? After all, weren't the Space Wolves the fail safe against Legions turning bad? A Legion to kill other Legions if the need arose?

Yes but this would be against a full strength legion led by a Primarch who isn't going to be cowering away till the final battle. I really don't know, I think the space wolves would win as a legion but Angron would probably beat Leman Russ

I agree, while individual warriors of the World Eaters might have been better, the Space Wolves know how to fight together and are cunning foes. While the World Eaters would just assault the Space Wolves, the Space Wolves would prepare possitions, lay in ambush and hold men in reserve to exploit weaknesses in the enemy's plan. With the upcoming Butcher's Nails this might change though.

Angron would certainly beat Leman Russ.

Yes, but they were a small Legion and it's there loyalty and willingness to do what has to be done that makes them the fail safe. Not their combat record. (Otherwise it would have been the Sons of Horus.) I think that while the Space Wolves would have made up the bulk of the fail safe, they would not fight the traitor legion alone. On Prospero they are assisted by both the Custodians and the Sisters of Silence. While their numbers are unknown I guess at least a few hundred Custodians were present and also several squads of Silent Sisters.

How about now...

The Lion vs Guilliman.

Single combat?

The Lion.

While both Primarchs were great warriors Guilliman was more of a ruler/general then the Lion. I'm not saying the Lion wasn't a great general.

While Guilliman grew up at court Lion El'Johnson grew up fighting the Great Beasts of Caliban, this first years would have honed his survival instincts. After this he was trained by an order of knights who's job it was to contain the threat of the Great Beasts. I think the Lion's fighting experience would have given him a edge over Guilliman.

The white scars and the Night Lords both need some 30K HH novel Love before we answer that question as neither of them have featured strongly in any of the books so far or had a book of their own so far. and with the HH series adding depth to some of the older fluff, only time will tell.

A thousand times this.

Thats also a difficult one. Magnus is the son of the Emperor, and has inherited his psychic aspect. We know he is awesomely powerful, and that the Emperor had hopes to share everything with him. We don't really know anything about Malcador though. Saying that the big E planned to keep Magnus on the throne semi-permanently, whereas Malcador only survived a few hours before turning to dust. So my bets are on Magnus.
The Lion because he is really the only Primarch we know that is still alive.

Actually, Guilliman is still alive in stasis. Likewise, Lion El'Jonson is in stasis in the middle of the rock. The difference is that The Lion doesn't have hundreds of pilgrims gawping at him every day like dumb fish.

Which was, I think, the point of the 'duel' Tezzy suggested.

Anyway, to add something to the topic at hand. Ferrus or Perturabo?

I know I'm biased, but one on one, I'd say Ferrus. He drowned a giant metal snake in lava with his bare hands. The only reason that he lost to Fulgrim was that he was possesed by a daemon and excelled in sword combat. Ferrus excels in brute force while Pertuabo is more of a thinker (this is just from my limited knowledge of Pertuabo mind you).

Legion vs legion though, I'm sorry to say that Iron Warriors would win with the right preparation. I mean look what they did to the other legion that supposedly specializes in sieges. Iron Hands wouldn't stand a chance in a siege against Iron Warriors. In ship to ship assaults is where I think the Iron Hands would have the upper hand. So it all just depends on time and place.

Btw, World Eaters and their Primarch can take the wolves any day :D
