Who would win in a fight?

Russ is overrated, Thousand Sons showed his win against Magnus was mostly down to luck, and considering Russ was basically Magnus's Kryptonite to begin with that really doesn't bode well for Russ if he decided to throw down against Angron. I don't see the Red Angel walking away completely unscathed but there's no doubt in my mind Russ is leaving in a body-bag. Haven't seen enough of the pre-Heresy World Eaters to judge how they'd fare against the Space Wolves tactically so I'm not going to make a judgement there.

Lion vs Roboute, I'd probably go with the Lion, he strikes me as a little more capable when it comes to single-combat over the lord of the Ultramarines. If their legions are also involved, I'd probably go with Guilliman's boys for the win however with sheer numbers being the major decider.

Curze vs Khan is a straight-up win for the Night Haunter. Savage Weapons showed while his fighting style is pretty much that of a knife-wielding killer, he was able to overpower the Lion after the latter had stabbed him through the stomach with his sword and only the intervention of one of Lion's bodyguards led to Jonson surviving the encounter. Night Lords vs White Scars would be an interesting match-up, both are very much based around high-speed, hit-and-run combat. If NL precognition is involved it could certainly play a part in a victory. Marines vs Marines, the Scars are probably combat superior to the Night Lords, if only because I think the latter need a bit more prep time. Probably side with the Scars despite being a Night Lords fan.

Ferrus vs Peturabo lacks any real feats for Peturabo so I'm not going to say one way or another. Iron Hands vs Iron Warriors is probably a win for the Warriors based on their style of combat.

Dorn vs Vulkan as much as I like Vulkan I'd probably have to go with Dorn although again there's a distinct lack of feats for both against equal combatants. Salamanders vs Imperial Fists is probably also an IF victory but it also depends on terrain, and other factors which could swing to a Salamander win with the right conditions.

None can say for sure what happened, but when the cloying musks cleared the Emperor's Children were gone and Roboute lay unmoving.

Most people would lay unmoving after a Slaaneshi daemon primarch has had it's way with you... If you ever seen Hentai.. imagine instead of the girl vs the tentacle monster, roboute guilliman.. the slash at his throat was proably the least painful :P :P

We cannot compare Friendly sparring matches between primarchs (russ vs horus was mentioned) as a battle really to the death..

I can see Russ ripping Angron's arm off, where Angron just replies, bah it's only a flesh wound :tu:

We will learn more on combat capabilites of the primarchs as the HH novels evolve.. I'm not really impressed by Horus his skills so far (in actual combat not as warmaster) he did get stabbed by the special blade by a possessed man..

Where as Fulgrim, ripped apart a wraithlord, choked an avatar to death and killed Ferrus..

None can say for sure what happened, but when the cloying musks cleared the Emperor's Children were gone and Roboute lay unmoving.

I just googled what you meant.

No. Absolutely no. Eeeew. No. No. ^_^

EDIT: And this is a family forum too dude. :P

the slash at his throat was proably the least painful

That is kind of the point. He was described as having a singel slash of blood across his thorat, indicating that he was otherwise unharmed. If someone was defeated by a violent being such as a World Eater, Night Lord or Emperor's Children Marine, then you would expect the corpse to be in pretty bad shape. It seems uncharacteristic of them to inflict only one small poisonous wound and then leave the enemy commander dying, instead of further taking apart or defiling the body. That Guilliman is only described as having that poisonous wound on his throat, but no further signs of battle, is one of the arguments for why Guilliman may have managed to banish Fulgrim during their struggle.

I could see that arguement going both ways. Each one kinda has valid points, maybe Guilliman banished Fulgrim and all Fulgrim was able to do was inflict a small poisonous wound on his neck. Maybe Fulgrim toyed with Guilliman and inflicted a small wound as a taunt/insult? Who knows.

Hmmmm...... Russ for the win, while both have reputation for savagery Russ is able to maintain more calm and stay rational thus would be able to out think

Angron who would go berserk leaving himself open. Also the wolves generally have phenomenal luck and luck makes or breaks a battle (just roll the dice in the most important grudge fight of your life! :Plol ).

On my Russ-Angron point, I have to back the Wolf King. Angron is formidable, no question, but the points on why he'd beat Russ do not stand up.

Angron has duelling experience? Yeah, as a young Primarch, against mortals. Russ grew up with wolves on Fenris, one of the harshest death worlds in the Galaxy.

Angron is a seething volcano of combat? Yeah, but he's smacked off his tits on rage drugs, Russ is no slouch in combat and has more of the survival instinct than Angron, he'd get him to make a mistake.

Basically, Angron would beat Russ in an arm wrestle, sure, but in a duel to the death, the lord of Fenris has to take it.

Angron vs. Russ would go to Angron beyond any doubt. I believe in the line about Horus and Sangy being the only two that would be able to win against Angron. Russ ain't no slouch, in the top five of Primarchs, but no match for Angron one on one.

yeah well sorry bout that, mods can feel free to delete the post ;)

Guilliman would beat everyone else. My basis for this statement is that I am an Ultramarine player.

You assume that being an Ultramarine means he is utterly invincible and cannot lose anything. What a shocking surprise. [/sarcasm]

Can't we just agree that the every outcome would be the Emperor getting involved and him winning?

And there are the wolf fanboys. No point in discussing further although the fluff is pretty clear about it.

Yup the fluff clearly states that Russ n the wolves were created to kick other chapters arses an keep them in line!

So they like to say about themselves, anyway.

If they just had Angron fight other humans then that was not a really exciting arena. And would probably have gotten boring after a few days. I assume in a universe such as 40K, arena fights are spiced up by introducing augmented humans and alien monstrosities into the mix.

They're all about exactly the same, depending on circumstances.

^ This...

...and this.

The winner would be the one best suited to advance that particular story.

On a different note, the Lion would wipe the floor with Guilliman, no question.

lol :D

And others!

TTS

"History will say they unleashed the Wolves of Russ on us,"

"When the Emperor unleashes them, be sure not to get in their way, for when the Wolves slip their leash, nothing will stop them until only ashes remain"

TFH

You are all facets of the Emperor,’ Kor Phaeron amended. ‘You are aspects pulled from a genetic primer. The Lion is your father’s rationality – his analytical skill – unburdened by conscience. Magnus is his psychic potential and eager mind, unrestrained by patience. Russ is his ferocity, untempered by reason. Even Horus…’

To me these statements backup what "they like to say about themselves, anyway."

ps. I culd be wrong you'd have to ask the authors! :D
