VAGABOND
Alright fellow Dark Angel brothers, here's my Deathwing army that I've been working on for the past 6 months. I've put alot of money time and effort into this list and have been religiously playtesting it week in week out and thought I'd share it all with you guys since a few of you have been asking to see it.. ''I'm looking at you here Bryan'' :( As you can see the army is almost completed and with only 2 models away from finishing it, I should have the last 2 terminators painted tonight. I've converted every single model in this army and added my own personal touches, I also had a few Ravenwing Typhoon Launchers spare and decided to put them to good use after we got FAQ'd back in January. If anyone has any questions, then feel free to ask me. If anyone would like more pics of them then I can add some more up. I was gonna take individual pictures of the command squad and show the conversions off but I was in a hurry as my local GW was closing and these pictures were just after a game. http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i238/Ryan-Ess/2011-09-16171604.jpg http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i238/Ryan-Ess/2011-09-16171526.jpg http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i238/Ryan-Ess/2011-09-16170323.jpg http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i238/Ryan-Ess/2011-09-16170307.jpg http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i238/Ryan-Ess/2011-09-16170017.jpg http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i238/Ryan-Ess/2011-09-16170005.jpg http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i238/Ryan-Ess/2011-09-16170839.jpg http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i238/Ryan-Ess/2011-09-16170854.jpg http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i238/Ryan-Ess/2011-09-16170909.jpg http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i238/Ryan-Ess/2011-09-16171023.jpg http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i238/Ryan-Ess/2011-09-16171042.jpg Thanks for looking folks. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/238548-vagabonds-angels-of-vengeance/ Share on other sites
Brother Kovash
I'm in total shock of the awesomeness displayed here. I think you've taken the title for best Belial conversion right now! Bryan definitely needs to see these. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/238548-vagabonds-angels-of-vengeance/#findComment-2877494 Share on other sites
VAGABOND
Thanks man, it's good to get a compliment on my army. I converted Belial in such a way to make him standout from my army and add a few inches to his height. I have tried to make him as personal as I could without going over the top on it. Brother Immolator
Me likey! On a side note why you kept the hammer on the angel of death? It makes more sense with a sword. Seriously those are awesome! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/238548-vagabonds-angels-of-vengeance/#findComment-2877506 Share on other sites
VAGABOND
Just to fit with the theme of my army, but I may change it at some point but not entirely sure yet. EPK
Nice stuff! On a side note why you kept the hammer on the angel of death? Well he is a thunder hammer/storm shield terminator after all - he just has an extra long one now :jaw: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/238548-vagabonds-angels-of-vengeance/#findComment-2877568 Share on other sites
lilloser
Really nice. I like how the armour has been highlighted with blue rather than grey. Very cool army. VAGABOND
The armour was painted using Astromincan Grey and washed with Badab Black and highlighted again on the edges with the grey. Bryan Blaire
Vagabond, they look great! Very cool conversions as well. That is definitely a great Belial stand-in, I don't personally like the helmet-less head, but at least he's got a hood! And wings! A true Angel of Death! :D It's funny that you painted your Terminators that way, since I had previously written that my Chapter is "descended" from the Angels of Vengeance, and my scheme builds the bone down further than yours. I think it's great and as they say, great minds think alike! Very cool! I know that I'd definitely like to see some more individual pics when you've got the time, and I'm probably not alone. I'm not a huge fan of helmetless heads but I love that hooded one you get in the Ravenwing Box, theres just something about it I like so much. Out colour schemes are definitely similar mate, I will take pictures of them tomorrow and more individual shots of the Command Squad since they were the first unit I converted. I really should have mentioned that aswell because theres not a day goes by when someone ''Why are they not bone but black'' then I have to go into a short novel and explain why lo. I think if we put both our armies together on the field it would look great. What do you wanna see more pics of then mate? Here's the link to my Librarian I posted in the Hall Of Honour. Grand Master Raziel Secundus
Excellent army mate, I am attending the week after you do so I am glad my army won't be judged along side this one  Good luck and let us know how you do! Cheers and Happy Hunting Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/238548-vagabonds-angels-of-vengeance/#findComment-2877929 Share on other sites
VAGABOND
Thanks mate, and surely my army isn't that bad compared to yours and no worries man I will let you know ;) P.s. Terminator Librarian Isiah You're librarian is very nice and I like the way you used the blue to highlight his black armor, very creative idea on getting the "librarian" color onto the model without his whole armor being blue. As far as pics, I think shots of each of your command squad and one of the converted Cyclone launchers would be cool to see. VAGABOND
The Librarians armour is actually Vallejo Night Blue but the camera didn't quite make it out in the pictures. As requested mate, here you go :tu: Here's the converted Terminator holding the Thunder Hammer with his left hand http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i238/Ryan-Ess/2011-09-17140007.jpg http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i238/Ryan-Ess/2011-09-17140021.jpghttp://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i238/Ryan-Ess/2011-09-17140037.jpg Command Squad Terminator 1 http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i238/Ryan-Ess/2011-09-17140051.jpg Command Squad Sergeant http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i238/Ryan-Ess/2011-09-17140132.jpg Command Squad Cyclone Missile Launcher http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i238/Ryan-Ess/2011-09-17140143.jpg Command Squad Standard Bearer http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i238/Ryan-Ess/2011-09-17140203.jpg http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i238/Ryan-Ess/2011-09-17140213.jpg http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i238/Ryan-Ess/2011-09-17140227.jpg Command Squad Apothecary http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i238/Ryan-Ess/2011-09-17140315.jpg http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i238/Ryan-Ess/2011-09-17140325.jpg Command Squad Rear http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i238/Ryan-Ess/2011-09-17140857.jpg Objective Markers http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i238/Ryan-Ess/2011-09-17140500.jpg http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i238/Ryan-Ess/2011-09-17140449.jpg There you go guys, hope those are ok for you. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/238548-vagabonds-angels-of-vengeance/#findComment-2878086 Share on other sites
Brother Kovash
They're better than okay. They're amazing! Every time I see someone using the Empire standard for the Deathwing standard I feel like I should do the same, but I'm using one of the simple banners from the DA upgrade box instead. Very nice work. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/238548-vagabonds-angels-of-vengeance/#findComment-2878093 Share on other sites

Very nice work. I know what you mean dude, my original model for the banner was way too plain and didn't stand out so I bought the Empire General kit... even if it did mean spending £15 for the banner but I'm pleased with how it turned out. Grimdarkness
I wonder how many empire generals are sitting in dark angel's players bit boxs? The army looks good well done. Captain Semper
Ok, the terminator that holds the hammer in front of his chest with the shield hanging in his back is easily the most threatening termie EVER! VAGABOND
Thanks guys, glad your liking my army. I've put alot of blood, sweat and tears into making this army. Azurious
I love the movement you have put into your models, the terminater while beautiful can be awfully static, but not in your force :tu: Really lovely looking deathwing from coversions to painting and an ispiration to get the rest of mine finished ^^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/238548-vagabonds-angels-of-vengeance/#findComment-2878414 Share on other sites
VAGABOND
I think I'm gonna change the bases and colours on the pieces of debris to show which members are part of each squad. I would rather do that than have small dots on the bases to try break up units. I would rather do that than have small dots on the bases to try break up units. You could alway paint squad number on the knee area of the units?? Army look cool, suprise you not went further with the Death Wing shoulder pads from Forge World :) Can't wait to see the army down in Nottingham in under a month time. Like I said I know you to well to know it was a Terminator armoy you'd be taken down or that least somthing with a 2+ armour save (Sang Guards force). The Dracon
Just lovely. I was lucky enough to pop into gw the other day while you were carving up some nids with them. And I just had to join up so I could comment on them. Consider the face mask idea stolen! Will have to get a game in sometime, even though it will be a shame to kill them. Lol good luck.
