Ogur
Name: Tergum Angulus Segmentum: Ultima System: Hibernia Sector: Gradus Subsector: Filius Designation: Death World Adeptus Astartes Homeworld Tithe grade: Aptus Non Discovered by an Adeptus Mechanicus expedition during the Age of Strife in 638.M27. Very large deposits of promethium, base and exotic metals were found during initial survey. Designated as a Forge World in 652.M27. Development began immediately. Contact with Mars over the next 500 years was sporadic due to the present warp storms. Communications indicated development of refinaries, manufactora and storage facilities to be progressing. Last contact with Mars in 145.M28. Designated by Mechanicus as Offline in 145.M29. Rediscovered in 338.M35 by an Imperial Expedition led by Veron Henric Martus. The planet is an industrial wasteland. Remnants of early stages of Forge World development are found across the continents and oceans. Small tribes of humans live amongst the ruins, living off hunting and basic farming. These tribes concentrate around the fuel stores located around and under the ruins of refinaries, as well as around manufactora ruins. Promethium driven vehicles are used for transportation during hunting or trading with other tribes for weapons, fuel, water, or food. Several small hive ruins exists. These are inhabited by degenerate cannibals. The tribes only venture into the ruins to hunt for tech and supplies if left no other choice. The local wildlife was dangerous to human life before settlement and this has only increased over the millennia. Added to the hazard of local fauna is the environmental hazard. Centuries of pollution and industrial development have mostly ruined the ecosystems, leaving large areas of land as arid or poisonous wastes. Recovered data logs show that several raids were conducted by presumably Eldar after 148.M28. The tech priests responded by increasing weapon production and storing these across the planet. Large motor pools were created to move skitarii to raid sites fast and efficiently. A road network of appropriate size was also developed. Last recorded raid was in 273.M28. In 282.M28 a poison spread through the population, killing 90% of the population, including the entire tech- priesthood. Last record to be found is dated in 284.M28. This event entered into local myth as “the Dying”. The remaining menials dispersed, forming the tribal structure that is present now and the budding Forge World fell into decay. Census has shown a high compatibility of the local genestock with the Astartes geneseed. Designated as an Adeptus Astartes Homeworld in 414.M35 for the 10th Founding. Chapter creation started at this time. Designated name: ROAD WARDERS. Incorporation of the chapter into local myth began in 418.M35. Production of chapter vehicle pool, armour and weapons started at this time as well. Geneseed creation completed in 470.M35. Indoctrination of first generation Road Warders started in 471.M35. Chapter fully operational in 481.M35. Banners unfurled and chapter colours shown for the first time. Chapter colours: Silver with sable trim, Shoulders, helmet and backpack red with gold trim. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v75/flockadance/tergumangel.jpg Banner: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v75/flockadance/vignethomepage.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/238590-diy-road-warders/ Share on other sites
NightrawenII
Hmm, this will be quick... Recovered data logs show that several raids were conducted by presumably Dark Eldar after 148.M28. - Dark Eldar didn't exist until "the Fall" in M.31. Census has shown a high compatibility of the local genestock with the Astartes geneseed. Designated as an Adeptus Astartes Homeworld in 414.M35 for the 10th Founding. Chapter creation started at this time. - Regardless of gene-seed compatibility, the world still belongs to the Adeptus Mechanicus, and the Priesthood of Mars will be more than willing to take it back, mainly because of possibility of lost technology or STC burrowed here. +++++ There isn't much info about the Chapter, though. I suggest you to read a Guide to DIYing and Octaguide or read representative IA's in Liber Honouros Index (the pics are click-able. ;) ). Ogur
Oopsy on the DE part :) Thanks for pointing it out. I'm going for a Mad Maxy feel to the world, but can't really find another way of achieving it without Mechanicus influences. Suggestions are always welcome ofcourse ;) I know there isn't much on the chapter yet, but this is still a work in progress. I planned to first get the planet they originate from sorted and then get into more details regarding the actual chapter. The ideas I'm playing around with in my head is a chapter that has a tendency to salvage, loot and tinker with basic tech. A survivalist, improvisationalist mentality that allows them to perform their assignments without even basic support. NightrawenII
The ideas I'm playing around with in my head is a chapter that has a tendency to salvage, loot and tinker with basic tech. A survivalist, improvisationalist mentality that allows them to perform their assignments without even basic support. Most Chapters have their own forges and therefore good access to all equipment, they need (bar some exceptions). Tinkering with your equipment is a techno-heresy. The Techmarines are exception. Edit: I'm going for a Mad Maxy feel to the world, but can't really find another way of achieving it without Mechanicus influences. Suggestions are always welcome ofcourse - Just an observation. Mad Max world is already taken by official lore, twice. The Baal* and Medusa. Also, many DIYers go for this route, so it isn't very original. *The Baal is more Fallout-themed, though. Ogur
It's only tech- heresy once the mechanicum find out <_< The imperium is a vast place. To me it would be quite possible for the mechanicum to not figure out the link between the lost forge world and the recently discovered death world. At least for a while. Lucien Eilam
Not sure about "Road Warders" for a Space Marine Chapter. 1) Marines use a lot of naval terminology, and spend their lives constantly moving from system to system. Roads are strictly terrestrial and planet-bound. 2) It makes them sound like traffic cops. Or worse, toll booth attendants. Roads are generally the safe route through the wilderness. If a Marine is ever anywhere safe, he's not doing his job. ChaplainMathreyn
toll booth attendants. By the Emperor! You owe $1.25! *Inquisitor puts change in the system. Gate opens* May the Emperor's light shine on you... And Don't Forget to buckle Up! ... What about a name that inspires swiftness and action... Lightning? The Lightning Wardens! May you Pay the Toll! Also... For a "Mad Max" feel, why not go for the decayed route?... >.> ... The Milky Way is a HUGE Galaxy, and... The Mechanicus can't get supplies everywhere... Overtime, power suits, bolters, Dreadnaughts, etc. are going to start breaking and decaying... Have the power suits show significant re-patching, etc. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/238590-diy-road-warders/#findComment-2882635 Share on other sites

Suggestions are always welcome ofcourse Ever hear of/see/play the old GW game, GorkaMorka? Basically a Ork hulk crashes onto a planet, and the back-water Humiz decide to emulate the Orks. You could have a similar event in your background. Space Marines clear out theorks encourage the humans to keep up the hostile environment.
