Machinator
Machinator, How are the jetbikes coming along? Haven't seen any updates in a while. Looking foeward to see how they are looking. I should have some updates in the next week or two. I have another commission I need to get out of the way first then I'll be back to the bikes. I'm actually a little jealous. Some fine work you done there. What are the materials you work with? Green Stuff? Thanks :P This project is mostly just plasticard and green stuff with a few lathe turned pieces. With any luck these will be in my store in early December. Volfen
Magnificent Plasticard artistry!! Will you be posting a painted version of each? These would be sweet Christmas presents for those SM players who have everything :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/238634-jet-bikes/page/2/#findComment-2930089 Share on other sites
Subtle Discord
Me likey scratch build! Stellar work. Thank you for giving me some ideas for the feel that I want from my future air support. I'm planning an F-22 inspired Chaos jet, and these give me an idea now to make one that 'looks 40K'. Can't wait to see how this develops. Ahrimanjjb
By the far the best jetbike conversions I've seen, and a great deal more complicated by the looks of it, but the effort is clearly worth it for the results. Can't wait to see them painted if you're planning on going that far with these. Machinator
Thanks guys. I hope to have two squads painted up for the launch. The first a five man squad of classic DA Ravenwing marines on the Talon Assault Speeders and a squad of Khorne Berserkers on the Makos. Machinator
The first set of prototype molds is complete but they is still some tweaking and clean-up to do before I make the production molds. However, here is a fully assembled one to give you an idea how they look: The Talon Assault Speeder: http://i877.photobucket.com/albums/ab340/machinator248/IMG_2003.jpg http://i877.photobucket.com/albums/ab340/machinator248/IMG_2001.jpg http://i877.photobucket.com/albums/ab340/machinator248/IMG_2004.jpg http://i877.photobucket.com/albums/ab340/machinator248/IMG_2008.jpg http://i877.photobucket.com/albums/ab340/machinator248/IMG_2005.jpg http://i877.photobucket.com/albums/ab340/machinator248/IMG_2006-1.jpg And the Mako Assault Speeder: http://i877.photobucket.com/albums/ab340/machinator248/IMG_2010.jpg http://i877.photobucket.com/albums/ab340/machinator248/IMG_2009.jpg http://i877.photobucket.com/albums/ab340/machinator248/IMG_2012.jpg http://i877.photobucket.com/albums/ab340/machinator248/IMG_2013.jpg http://i877.photobucket.com/albums/ab340/machinator248/IMG_2015.jpg http://i877.photobucket.com/albums/ab340/machinator248/IMG_2014-1.jpg So what do you guys think? Nah, the combat version is still to come. Think two man version ;) at the onset of this thread, I was slightly underwhelmed. Now, I whole hearted admit that these are AWESOME! Kierdale
Wow! I checked this thread when you started it and wondered how the bikes would turn out... I didn't expect them to look that good. Subtle Discord
I doubt myself all the time, especially my sanity ;) I know that feeling only too well. Half your brain is saying "Are you mad, does it need to be that complex?!" and the other half is wondering if all the putty work is clean. It's really nice when you can prime or cast it, and see that it all worked out. Very nice work. I can't wait to see the 'combat' version. Will it be a 'side-car' style, or 'in-line' setup for the gunner? There will be an armored area behind the pilot for a figure to stand kind of like a chariot. OptiMAT
Considering I was quick to add criticism (although hopefully it was taken constructively) I feel obliged to come out and say... That. Looks. Amazing. Really good work there with the plasticard, I was impressed to see it like that, let alone after turning those into a proper resin model is really good. Mako version looks a bit classic Battlestar Galactica. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/238634-jet-bikes/page/2/#findComment-2933213 Share on other sites
