Necron Hunters?

Depending on your conversion skill a Torquemada Coteaz "Counts as Adeptus Mechanicus" Army could be a worthwhile choice both for intimidation and fluff.

only The Emperor knows at this point in time, heh

my models have not even arrived in the mail yet. I'm so green it isn't far off of greenskins. I just have heard a lot of talk of them beiing next in updates. In response to this, I think it would be a good laugh to make a NH army. Bits are cheap, and each GK would have a victim based.

My name is Brother-Sergeant Reese, come with me if you want to live...

I like the counts-as AdMech idea. I use some Dark Mechanicus Tech Priests for Obliterator wound markers for my CSM army. The AdMech is just under-represented on the table top, I think.

Is Mat Ward writing it?

Why not? GW/Matt Ward as the head chef,He can make a Hugh crap sandwich, enough for all to have a bite.

Why should necrons get special preference with a new writer!

Let him butcher this one also......Fair is fair.

I've seen monkey s**t fights at the zoo that were better organized than this.(on matt's writing)

hah

no, just making a squad with my own fluff. Instead of skulls it would be Necron heads and such.

then when they pull out their new Necron army I can have an intimidation factor, as my army hunts them

Just to rain on your parade but the Necron are not Daemons and necron bodies vanish this includes heads.

Oh and the "intimidation factor" is really in your head. if your silver marines have some silver heads on them and this rattles them and they do not point out necron corpses phase out I would find someone else to play because well I have to say the person will not likely to be a good game.

You must Realise Ward likes the Toasterbots more than he like the Smurfs and when he thinks something should be "over powered" they will be.

What do you guys think of a unit of GK as Necron Hunters? I would name the GM Yoshimi, The One sent to destroy those evil machines. We need to brace ourselves for the upcoming mechanical revolution.

You like The Flaming Lips, so you have my blessing.

He's making it with his own fluff. Personally I think this is a awesome idea. Are you going to paint their armor any differently? I think it'd be cool if you did some subtle differences in the armor coloring, black shoulderpads for example or something like that. You should definitely post some pics if you decide to do it :P

Just to let you know, I don't have a parade, and I live in a city where it rains all the time. I thank you for your attempt to make me feel whatever it was that you were thinking. I'm sorry you missed my point of the thread, at least one person got it. The clue is Yoshimi

Oh, Yoshimi. They don't believe me. But you won't let those robots eat me.

I like the idea of using painted infantry models as wound-markers...that'd be a cool way to get some chanting henchmen-like models onto the table, especially with a beefy IC.

You mean except if you stick a spike through them and put them on a chaos rhino?

And you just explained it yourself "Chaos" the one thing that "could" keep a Necron from phasing out because the whole they fail like a sack full of kittens trying to swim in a river in the warp. I just do not like the Idea because it throws fluff out the window, And this being the internet people are open to voice their opinions and well. Also the whole GKs are trained to fight Daemons and are more valuable to the Imperium so throwing them at things that turn them into nothing is not really a good plan IMO.

I Understand OP wants to make his own fluff for the unit but does not mean everyone has to like it.

Actually the AdMech invented a doodad that stops crons from phasing out... It isn't 100% reliable and needs to be stuck on the cron before it phases out but maybe after it is taken out of action giving you a very short time period, in a combat situation to do what must be done!

Didn't Grand Master Mordrak beat down a Necron World Engine in Codex fluff? Didn't a group of GK beat down an Ork invasion leaving the populace telling tales of Steel Saviors when an imperial relief force finally showed to mop up? They are the chamber militant of the Inquisition now. To pretend they never fight other races is folly even if they primary mission is the fight against Chaos.

I remember the days of T5, 2+ save Necron Warriors who only have a one in six chance of flunking WBB... *happy sigh* Oh, and what I'd do for T8 Scarabs once more...

You need something like Grey Knights to hunt them properly - no-one else has enough power weapons.

I find it very funny that the best use a Chaos Techmarine can think of for such a device is to stick a 'Cron noggin on his ride. Awesome.

wow, this actually turned into a good conversation

and isn't the Inq into using women? Who is to say that one of the GK isn't a woman.

Her name is Yoshimi

she's a black belt in karate

working for the city

she has to discipline her body

'Cause she knows that

it's demanding

to defeat those evil machines

I know she can beat them

Oh Yoshimi, they don't believe me

but you won't let those robots eat me

Yoshimi, they don't believe me

but you won't let those robots defeat me

Those evil-natured robots

they're programmed to destroy us

she's gotta be strong to fight them

so she's taking lots of vitamins

'Cause she knows that

it'd be tragic

if those evil robots win

I know she can beat them

and in case you didn't know

The lips have a Sponge Bob song!

Space Marines can't be women.

GK are technically not necessarily space marines, they are GK

IIRC

and I have a dog named Mala, and he is a boy, so what is to say a man can't be named Yoshimi
