Brother Tyler
The established background material would lend towards all of the 2nd Founding Chapters being roughly similar in size, per the Codex Astartes. Even the Space Wolves Legion split into two Chapters, and they didn't follow the Codex at all. It seems much more likely to me that the Black Templars were of a similar to size as the other Chapters and they decided not to stick to the normal Chapter size limits and expanded after that. During the early years of the post-Horus Heresy Imperium, would there be any reason for the High Lords of Terra to not trust the Black Templars? Now this argument has taken place many times before and ultimately we are left with a bunch of conjecture and very little in the way of facts, so we're not really going to settle anything here other than to re-hash the same pointless argument. From the looks of it, Guerilla Commando is thinking about a progenitor other than the Black Templars, so perhaps we should be courteous to him in his discussion and debate whatever courses of action he actually is considering. Remember, we're talking about Guerilla Commando's idea for a Chapter of Space Marines with influences from the Freemasons.
