thecapn226
I have heard that a lot of tournaments are not allowing special characters. Is there any truth to this or is it just another rumor? This really affects my list because I'm used to using crowe. number6
It depends on the tournament, I'm sure. I think outlawing special characters is asinine since so much of the variety in army builds in multiple codexes rely on special -- or at least "named" -- characters to unlock them. But if somebody rules that no named characters are allowed ... well, not much you can do, is there? Other than take your money and your models elsewhere. thecapn226
Thanks. I'm going to start going to larger tournaments this next year like adeptacon and what not and I wasn't sure if any of those were doing it. Thanks again. evileyevirtue
"Special characters" don't exist any more... Except maybe in some really old codexs. You're not required by any HE rule to ask permission to use them anymore and no minimum points either. That being said... A tournament organizer can do what ever they want. You can usually read up on the rules before hand and find out what kind of twist they might put on it. I have seen smaller point tournaments and escalation leagues put restrictions on using named characters, only because they can be massively overpowered at smaller point levels. I've never seen (at least in recent years) any of the major tourneys put restrictions like that in place.
