Leardinal
Hello all, I have started a Deathwatch Kill Team, and I am now about to start painting it, but I have run into a small issue. This is the Scheme of one of the Chapters I was planing on using: I was wondering, would the chapter badge be on a blue or red shoulder? Do they move the entire shoulder to the other side, (red,) or do they paint a new badge onto the other shoulder, (blue,) or do I divide the shoulder in 2 halves to reflect the scheme? Eremiel
Well, normally the color sceme for Deathwatch is black armor, Left Shoulder and arm silver, with the entire Chapter Paulron moved to the right side. Key emphasis: "Chapter Paulron moved to the right side" Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/238982-deathwatch-paint-scheme-question/#findComment-2883449 Share on other sites
Sgt. Key emphasis: "Chapter Paulron moved to the right side" I would say you could half the shoulder paulron colors to match your color scheme and should be fine. Usually what defines the colors is the chapter emblem as well. Myxx
In one of the IA books, I think there is a camo version of the Brazen Claws IIRC where the armor is dark grey and only one shoulder has the red and blue quartering and the claw chapter symbol. Are you possibly thinking of the Howling Griffons in Imperial Armour 9? http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2011...olor_Scheme.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/238982-deathwatch-paint-scheme-question/#findComment-2883713 Share on other sites
styygens
My goodness, what a conundrum! I can hear the anguished screaming of the fluff nazis and rules lawyers for miles. I can only tell you that if I felt compelled to solve this problem, I would split the pauldron paint scheme in blue and red halves. I would paint in a similar fashion for a quartered scheme chapter. To me, it would be important to show the "full" chapter color scheme as it more clearly shows the chapter's heraldry. Or let me put it another way... If you simply move the red shoulder pad to the right because it is the "Chapter Icon" pad, that's logical to a point. But, to me, that discounts the importance of the blue in the overall color scheme. There's some symbolic reason for the two colors to be in that pattern. I think the Chapter would want to carry that symbolism over in a small scale when sending a brother to the Deathwatch YMMV. Leardinal
Thanks for the replies. @Eremiel: I thought that was how I had read it, but I couldn't find it. @styygens: I swear I was just asking because I have this need to at least attempt to do things right :(. I like your points though, and will probably half the pad. Yeah, when Rogue Trader was insinuating that Deathwatch was a viable allies option (SOOOOOooooooooo many years ago) I read up on everything I could find about them. Then the RPG came out and I was in heaven!
