Zincite
When you slice yourself open with a hobby knife but the fine layer of superglue that coats you from the elbows down seals the wound before any blood can come out. And then you note the Larraman organ is working particularly well today. ... When the Glue is always gone. ... When you notice that you've just cut up several good models to make a Chaos Dreadnought, despite the fact you didn't actually want a Chaos Dreadnought. ... When people look at you funny because you told them you'd like a new razor saw for your birthday. ... When your idea of luxury consists of a cup of tea, a bowl of crunchy snacks, and a box full of little plastic pieces. red_starrise
Ok, I've got another one that came up just last night: When you & your wife are discussing finances & she brings up the cost of your hobby you bring up the cost of food as a direct parallel. Oh and for my new job I got fingerprinted electronically & while looking at the prints I realized: there's no way those are an exact match to the ones I had on file for my wild & rowdy teenage years lol, SOOO many hobby knife scars on the fingertips... meatpole
You know you've been modeling too much when.... -the next day a co-worker asks " is that a small gun glued to the back of your arm?" -when the phone keeps ringing and you think " how can I make a real Bolter" -when your 1 year old walks around with two freshly glued space marines in his hands........for the night. -when your 3 year old calls your terminators by name and also calls them hers -when you have cut yourself so bad you can not work or hunt until the stiches get removed and your pinky finger go numb to the touch now Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/239063-you-know-youve-been-modeling-too-much-when/page/2/#findComment-2887369 Share on other sites

Zincite
Priceless. May I put this in my sig? If it requires my acceptance, then I've no objection either. Thought of some more. We've had some good threads like this over time, but this one is really making me laugh. ... When you can get a strange sense of happiness from a new roll of kitchen towel and a fresh yogurt pot of water. ... When you manage to chew a nail off your fingure in one piece, and then start to wonder what use it could be in a conversion. Lestat
- you acquire wooden fruit boxes from work as a very cheap (read: FREE) source of balsa wood. - you carry out your work while constantly thinking about the conversion you are working on. - you drop a bit you are trying to glue to a model and spend an hour scrabbling around on the floor trying to find it. You later find said bit somehow glued to the back of your trouser leg. - you carefully consider the colour of your new carpet for the ease of spotting grey bitz against when dropped. - you have several punture wounds to your feet after treading on dropped bitz. - you acquire the plastic middles of till rolls from work as handy bitz for scenery (they make great pipes for 40k). All true stories :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/239063-you-know-youve-been-modeling-too-much-when/page/2/#findComment-2887940 Share on other sites

grandmaster lisander
-You get chased off by employees while scavenge behind super markets for wooden box, card board boxes egg cartons etc. for terrain material. - Your wife punishes you by hiding your bitz. - While at work you sketch out ideas for that new model you’re going to build. - The "Hot topic" for you and your friends is the newsiest conversion you just built - Your significant other has become an expert at suturing your various lacerations from modeling knifes. - You use super glue to repair everything.
