Forgeworld Bran Redaw

Unfortunately Games Workshop and Forge World have demonstrated a complete disregard for completing any of their ranges. Instead they seem to keep sticking as many Titan weapons on Imperial Guard vehicle chassis as possible while expanding the number of units in the game...even if there are no models for them.

Although from a business point of view, this is rather clever, because their customer base will likely find an effective way to convert these units from their existing range, thus making them more money without them having to invest in new kits.

Worse still, is GW's new marketing strategy to keep everything quiet, so that none of their customers can plan their armies for the future. For example; I feel sorry for all the Dark Eldar players who spent hours converting Vyper jetbikes into Venoms only for GW to suddenly release a Venom kit a couple of months later. This is why I'm not in any hurry to make some Thunderwolf Cavalry. Because I know that as soon as I finish painting the last few details, GW will release a plastic kit!

Wait, first you criticize GW for not finishing any of their ranges, and then you complain about them making an effort to finish the Dark Eldar one?

How long has the wolf 'dex been out? You're still waiting for TWC? I picked up a set of the Mr Dandy's as soon as they were available and there has never been a problem using them at all the tournies I've been to since, although admittedly I haven't been to a GW tournament with them but that's probably because I haven't been to any GW tournaments for around 4 years. There's still no sign of any "official" TWC anywhere near the horizon so if you want some in your wolf force bite the bullet and get some.
They'll only be illegal in GW tournaments, and how many of those do you see? Most other tournaments are fine with it.

That still leaves the part where they're ugly, misshapen and juxtaposed from GW models.

Personally I like the ones from Mythicast (http://mythicast.com).

I think they look properly wolfy :D

Hmm looks like that korhill character from fantasy, the leader of the white lions or something, the elf guy.

Hehe, didn't want to say it myself. After all, what kind of wolf lord wants to be compared to a high elf? :D

But yeah. The stance, the hides, the huge axe... it is definitely reminiscent of the older Korhil model.

Is it me, or does he have next to no shoulder pauldrons? Also, his legs are ultra-skinny, particularly by the ankles.

Despite the debate on bluntness, I like the design of the axe itself, but I agree that it looks too much like the White Lions guy.

Shame on the pose also.. atleast the high elf looked ready to strike. This guy's posture sorta looks like he's having a sharing issue. "No, it's MY axe!" For me, it'd be more believable if the right elbow was higher and the axe blade turned in the direction of the stroke. I would've hoped for something more dynamic and less crowded in his own silhouette... preferably something akin to the dynamism of this guy.

Love the axe. Love the head. Love the armor detailing... but all in all, I don't think it's worth me spending FW shipping prices to have.. especially if there isn't a Wulfen counterpart.

Very disappointed in this model, at first glance. Does he even have his great company symbol on his left shoulder? His right shoulder is covered in bad looking fur? Grade: C-

I think after seeing Valthex, Lugft, and Tyberos perhaps my expectations were to high..

Just realised the fur and hair look to suggest movement/ wind going in opposite directions. That and his big shoes and shin parts starting too high from the floor. Looks like his armour is the wrong size for him.....and not in a haha he's too big to fit way.

Don't. You are supporting crap workmanship when you by something not to standards. If this was an over priced meal at a fancy resturaunt would you pay full price? It's half cooked and not even close to the description. You would send it back. And if they had integrty they would accept they fooked up and start over.

If you go oh ok. Hrrrrrrm, not what I was expecting. Here is 189 Dollars for the meal. You just sold yourself out.

Like someone above said. Make your own. You can do better. It's not even holding the axe right. If he swunged it that way he would smack someone with the side of the axe. Don't believe me? Pick up something with a flat section and strike that pose. Then take a swing. If he was holding a fring pan maybe. Bran Red Maw, his food is always cooked with his might frying pan covered in the blood of his enemies! Yeah I think not.

This will be over priced. So is it really worth it? If you buy it, and it's rubbish, you promote rubbish.

You teach in 2 ways. Telling and example. Here we are saying, "Woooo there, that model sux!" And when someone goes and pays way more for it? They are giving a mixed message. So use example. Don't buy it to show them the work sucks.

I love their Libby. I love my Space Wolf Dread. It's so cherry. This is crap. Plain and simple. Something they threw together hoping people will buy it cause of the books content having to do with SpaceWolves and it's Epic fail. Look at the other marine heroes and you will see bad asses. And then there is this thing. It's not worth it. Make us something along the Lines of the Astral claws. Heck the Scopian guys look way better then this. Stop now and Start over.

I kind of agree. His posture and general design seems lacking in places, which is a bit of a pity, if he doesn't even look like he's ready to strike something down. Nothing wrong with the hair, but I wish the shoulders were visable (e.g, I really hate too much hair) and he looked able to fight.

That being said, don't have a problem with the axe, when sarrounded by a field like all power weapons, it will cut, and it would probably do a gigantic amount of damage to whoever is unlucky enough to be purged by that thing. Probably considerably more damaging due to the raw surface area you are hitting that thing, thats exactly how I imagine a space wolf power fist to look like.

I am shocked how horrible he looks. Why is his head SO BIG? Does he have some other genetic defect that we should know about?

The size of the head combined with the armour that looks too small makes for a very weird result. Even the shin pieces look too small. As mentioned the shoulder pieces are so small they look like he's hoping to be a scout one day.....

Even if he were a scout, his head is just way too big for an armoured up marine body. This is unfortunate... It's gotta be my least favourite FW piece in ages.

Part of me is still thinking this isn't done or something.
