tiberium40k
After re-reading A Thousand Sons I have to ask a question that has been bugging me ever since I first read it. IIRC, the Rubric of Ahriman turned the non-psyker TS`s into Rubric Marines while not affecting the psyker ones to such a degree, but while reading ATS I don`t remember reading anything about non-psyker TS and in fact I think the book implied EVERY member of the TS was warp-sensitive since everyone was a member of a specific Fellowship. I don`t know if this was explained in Battle of the Fang or it was mentioned in ATS and I simply missed/misunderstood whatever part of the book may have been stated in, but the question I`m asking is is who ended up becoming a Rubric Marine if everyone was a psyker? The 13th Goat
Yeah, I noticed that too the first time round. As it stands, I think the Ruberic has been reteconned to mean anywho were not powerful enough to resist the effects were dusted, with the most powerful ones recieving vastly enhanced powers (probably absorbing their brothers powers). ZeitgeistGlee
I noticed that myself, but I just figured it was down to the fact that non-psykers didn't progress to higher command positions within the Legion, hence why they weren't really shown in the novel and afterwards. Eerie
I also interpreted it like ZeitgeistGlee. We only get to know the Primarch and his Captains, we don't see anything through the eyes of a rank-and-file Marine. And even the combat scenes mostly focus on the "Scarab Occult", which was the legion's Terminator guard and as such we can assume they as well were rather capable Marines. However, if my memory serves me right it is not a retcon that the Rubric also turned weaker psykers into Rubrics. It always said (paraphrased) "the non-psykers and the weak psykers were turned into dust, but those who could sustain it became immune to mutation and more powerful than ever". Blacksad
immune to mutation? guessing "Battle of the Fang"'s writer missed that part... Brother Ambroz
I was under the impression that it turned those with little to no psychic powers into rubrics. That means there were some that had a small amount of psychic power/potential and were turned into rubrics. Midgard
immune to mutation? guessing "Battle of the Fang"'s writer missed that part... In his defense, the Thousand Son in question was mutating because he was being used as a vessel for Magnus to manifest through , unless I am forgetting something.
