Kill Team

Can anybody advise the best 200pt kill team? It can be 1 elite, 1 troop or 1 fast attack. I've got access to the following

Grey Knights - Purifiers and paladins

Chaos Marines - Marine squad with Mark of Nurgle.

Orks - Nobs, Boyz and deffcopta

Space Wolves - Grey Hunters and Wolf guard

Ultramarines - Dreadnought and tactical squad.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The toughest single model you can meet in KT is probably a Ven. Dread.

I would say the best simple KT might be an IG vet squad in a chimera.

When making your KT the first thing I would ask yourself is can I take on those two lists? After that it is all messing about.

I used to use a Ven Dread with Assault Cannon, Heavy Flamer and Extra Armour...until a Tau firewarrior with EMP? grenades rolled 6 to hit, 6 to pen, 6 to blow up, 6 to blow up again after the obligatory re-roll.

The ONLY way the guy could hurt it, too :tu:

First, what I like to use:

Chosen, with special weapons or penetrator rounds. Infiltrate and the LD10 are really nice.

A Plague Marine with a plasma gun. If you are using the v.5 interim rules, give him "Gunfighter" so that the plasma gun becomes a heavy 2/ assault 3 weapon.

A Team leader in terminator armor with "Resilient".

Second:

How are people fielding a Venerable dread, when the walker armor limit is 33, and the dread adds up to 34 armor?

No such restriction exists in the Battle Missions version of Kill Team. We've had people field freakin' Valkyries in their kill team. It's a broken format in its Battle Missions form, as a 10-man marine squad cannot statistically kill enough models in an opposing horde force (30+ Grots, 40 something Hormagaunts, etc etc). Bodies rule the day in Kill Team, and if there's anything Marines of any flavor lack, it's bodies on the field.

Aha! I thought that we were talking about the fan-made Special Operations: Kill Team. If we aren't then my post won't be very helpful :D

This does it for me:

6 Sternies --> 150

3 Combi-plasma --> 15

2 Multi-Melta's --> 10

Power Fist--> 25

For grey knights,

it's 6 teleport dudes with helbards and a psycannon (awsome mobility)

Also, the former manager of my local GW ran this:

Space Doggies, wolf guard:

Terminator, assault cannon (i'd make that a cm, but hey) {stealth, meaning a 2+ save, 3+ cover, 5+ invul and power weapon)

Jetpack, powerfist combo (fnp, does his job and dies)

Meltagun (come close and you die)

Power Sword or Frost thinggy 'don't know really) (Furious awsome charge)

Normal Guy with boltgun (keep biting your heels)

Nah, a local DE player uses a more irritating one:

5 Scourges, 2 Dark Lances. 3 Incubi

But to get a little bit back on topic. I have some trouble beating some Tau. As Tau is Tau, it means the kt is damn irritating.

6 Stealth teams (4 HB likes, 2 Melta-gun likes). They keep jumping and firing from terrain. They outmanouvre a normal team and also can't get shot from long range thanks to NV.

Also, how do you beat those little hammernators ? Or a vendetta ?

(EDIT: Now realised I posted the same thing 3 times... Sorry BC mods, this is the second time I make some mess for you to clean up ...) ;)

27 Boyz

1 upgraded to Nob + Power Klaw.

197 points

The Nob should be used for anti-tank/walker and the sheer amount of Boyz should gang up on everything else.

Worked well for me. Yet to play it against more veteran players though.
