red_starrise
I proudly present the first completed & based model of my Iron Warriors warband: My Iron Warsmith w/ daemon weapon (twin warp-infused lightning claws) & combi-bolter in TDA. It's hard to tell in these pics but the claw blades fade from orange to red from blade to back. http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x84/red_starrise/40K/Iron%20Warriors/CIMG5233.jpg http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x84/red_starrise/40K/Iron%20Warriors/CIMG5236.jpg http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x84/red_starrise/40K/Iron%20Warriors/CIMG5235.jpg http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x84/red_starrise/40K/Iron%20Warriors/CIMG5238.jpg http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x84/red_starrise/40K/Iron%20Warriors/CIMG5242.jpg http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x84/red_starrise/40K/Iron%20Warriors/CIMG5239.jpg http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x84/red_starrise/40K/Iron%20Warriors/CIMG5241.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/239630-iron-warsmith/ Share on other sites
WeaponAdept
Very cool conversion! I love the torso and shoulder pad combination. Is there a tutorial for that? I can see the fading colour on the blades, but only after you pointed it out. Thorse
I really like it, it's got a good colour scheme and I like the pose too, very balanced. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/239630-iron-warsmith/#findComment-2891053 Share on other sites
red_starrise
Very cool conversion! I love the torso and shoulder pad combination. Is there a tutorial for that? I can see the fading colour on the blades, but only after you pointed it out. It's a pretty simple conversion, the shoulder pads were done very similar to those on Karitas' tutorial on turning AoBR termies to GKs, I did the leg pauldrons the same way as the tutorial, more or less. The only differences were I didn't add a 2nd layer on the shoulders like Karitas did & after trimming them out I added small squares & rectangles to the inside for the cog look taking the SM tank commander shoulders as inspiration. For the torso, I used a GK torso to begin w/. I then cut the grated collar off the venerable dread chest plate & glued it in place above the head vertically. Behind this, for the tech look, I glued a rhino sensor dish, just the dish, angled to join the back & the collar & used GS to seal the gaps to make it look like it's part of the armor. To enclose the neckline for that heresy-era look I shaved all the GK iconography off the torso front & then cut a half circle of plasticard & curled it to fit around the open collar. I then cut a thin strip of plasticard for trim like the shoulders & added the cog look there as well. That's the basics, then I built the servo harness for the arm using the restraints from the interior of a drop pod. Lysimachus
very nice conversion work, good job. The only thing I can think of that you could add would be a final thin edge highlight of orange/yellow to the blades, might just make them pop a bit more? Still great though!
