Icewolf
My question is would it be possible that the first chapter master for a third founding chapter would have been around at the time of the crusade and heresy? My idea is that as a third founding of Dorn's geneseed there are only three chapters to choose from to be the initla cadre of masters/trainers, and that the chapter master, was around with Dorn and was one of the hardcore Dorian supporters who survivied the Iron Cage incident, but his outlook is still shaped by pre-heresy organisation to a degree and the attitude of Dorn i.e. was shocked that the Imperium no onger trusted the legion, and this affected how the chapter is organised/fights. Hope that makes sense. Icewolf Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/239649-1st-chapter-master/ Share on other sites
Leonaides
I wold suggest that by the time of the 3rd founding they'd have got over any 'shock', and ought to be pretty much 'codex-compliant' if he was one of Dorn's staunchest supporters. You might find it easier to have had him just a mere line-brother during the heresy - he'll have fought in it, but you wont have the temptation to justify his awesome actions during the fighting which avoids considerable 'mary-sue-ishness'... That's fine by with Dorn I ment he was around when the primarch was around not necessarly that he was a captain etc and close to Dorn per say. Jehoel
Well, based on the timeline in this forum, there was almost a thousand years between the the Heresy and the 3rd Founding, so I would have to say that your Chapter Master probably wasn't alive during the Heresy. But, Dorn died on the Sword of Sacrilege about 400 years after the Heresy, so it is possible that your Chapter Master may have been with Dorn there (if you are using the Imperial Fists chapter as your source chapter), maybe as a scout or a line battle-brother. NightrawenII
Fafnir Rann, the first Chapter Master of Executioners was one of the Dorn's late Captains. So yeah it's possible.
